Question about valium withdrawal

The last few days I have been taking about 10-20mg valium a day. Sometimes with a few drinks.

My question is, can I do this for about 7-10 days without suffering bad withdrawals?

Probably, but why risk it? Why not have a little fun, save your pills and wait a week or two and then enjoy for a day or two then take another break.

You don't want to get dependent on valium, or any benzo, any drug really. Unless you want to go through hell. Some say it's character building. I say it's suicide temptation. But everyone's different.

Seriously, do you have to use for 7-10 days straight?

Bang on the money.

Well im on vacation with a friend and I really like this combo for partying. But I guess I'll try and not do it every day.

I had another question. A few days ago I took about 50mg each day. Its almost 2 days later now and I still feel high with bad memory.

Any idea when it will be over?

Edit: I haven't taken anything the past 2 days

The effects of Diazepam for me could last at least 3 days after one dose when I had no tolerance

The best thing you could do is just not bother with Diazepam if possible.
I was taking 10mg about twice a week for months then slowly but surely my usage crept up on me and now I take 20mg on average every day.
I'm trying to slowly cut back on it even though it's not a huge dose I take but if I don't try and reduce it now then I can just see my daily dose getting more & more.
From what I've read about how hard it is to get off I just want to try and get off it before it's too late.

I'm scared of that too. I didn't expect to like it so much but it really makes me so carefree and social situations are so easy.

Definitely don't want to become dependant on any benzos though.

Do you take it regularly or something?

If you had no tolerance prior, then taking it like that for 7-10 should be completely fine.

I mean, provided you don't have an addictive personality and you can make yourself stop taking them.

But you're not going to be physically dependent after 7-10 days. Maybe a stomach ache and a bit of sweating for one day, if anything at all. I binged on valium actually very recently, same amount you've been doing, for 15 or 16 days and I stopped immediately (because I ran out).

It's been 7 days since. I'm fine. No atypical stomach aches, sweating, headaches...shit's all good.

Seriously, don't worry about it. Just don't go for any longer than that and you'll be fine.

I know that it must make you feel very good and social and whatnot. It does so for me. I'll tell you about a schedule I had in the past that worked tremendously - I took both hydrocodone and diazepam for the same purpose about a year ago, which was to feel carefree and sociable. Ultimately what I ended up doing was I'd take exclusively valium for a week, then I'd switch to the hydro for a week, then I'd switch back to the valium for a week, etc... This prevented tolerance quite well, and I did this for quite a long time until I was no longer to get those drugs from that particular doctor (and when I had to stop them I was completely okay, because having used them in that manner allowed me to keep myself from becoming dependent on either of them).

So if you have something else that you really like I would recommend trying a similar thing.

that is the thing with benzos... easy to fall in to, a bitch to get out of. be carful mixing with the alcohol it will increase your memory loss and depression on the cns. 50mg is a lot for some one with no tolerance this for sure why you are having blackouts and still feeling it the next day, diazapam has a long half life.

i was on prescribed diazapam for years, 10mg 180pl/month

Rod, I live in an Asian country where its hard to find opiods, and not sure I want to go down that road anyway.

Think ill try stick to diazepam just once a week or so.

Joopy,if u can stick to taking Diazepam just once a week then you won't have any problems but just be aware that because Diazepam is so subtle that it is easy to go from once a week to a few times a week & then perhaps every day over time if you are not strict with yourself.
Also try not to raise your dosage even if you feel like you need to.

Well I have been taking it every day. About 10-30mg. I hope im not slipping into addiction, but it is actually euphoric for me and makes life so easy.... especially socializing and getting laid, lol. But people think im a bit crazy.

^^I think subtle is a great word to describe Diazepam. It does hit pretty hard, but the effects are hard to notice. Its become my favorite Benzo(compared to some other benzos like Lorazepam and Clonazepam, not Alprazolam), as I recently tried it for the first time in about 10 years. I had always been partial towards Clonazepam, but now found the Valium more relaxing and I'd say it makes me feel more like its getting rid of anxiety, while Clonazepam makes me feel I am covering it up, like when drinking alcohol. I typically don't use benzos alone, though. I use to use the to make marijuana more enjoyable and now I do it to make opiates more enjoyable. Diazepam has was better synergy with H than clonazepam, I take it 1/2 hour prior to a line of H and they both hit at same time, its a great combo.

be careful. i would recommend if you are going to plan on continuing using diazapam that you try and take constant breaks so your body does not become dependent on it. if you use if for a week straight i would then try to take a week off of it or take it 1 day then take 2-3 days off in between. also try to stick with that 20mg range.... constant use builds dependency very quickly!!

benzo withdrawal is long, shitty, and can be dangerous running the risk of bad hypotension and seizures. less is more!!

Well it's been 48 hours since I stopped talking diazepam. I was taking it for only a week, with alcohol.

Last night I had a massive fight with my brother (not because I did anything stupid). And today I was reevaluating my life and having serious suicidal idealation, which has never happened before.

I still feel very spaced out right now, and depressiom and anxiety is kicking in.

Do any BLers have advice? Thanks

good for you for giving things a rest for a bit!

these low feelings you are having could be intensified by the week you are coming off of. i would try and not use any diazapam through this little rough patch that you are dealing with.

could you try and reach some resolution in the fight you had with your brother by expressing your feelings to him?? do not beat yourself up try and focus on small things around you that make you happy and are simple. getting a bit of exercise, perhaps just a nice long walk getting some movement in you and lifting those thoughts. any friends you could sit down with and just let things out ?? don't forget to eat!!

try and get some good rest that has always helped me a lot. ... hope things start to turn around and are looking up!!

Thanks for the encouragement.

Im feeling better now, for no real reason. Just suddenly had a mood change. Been chilling with my girlfriend which has helped. Still haven't come down yet and it'sbeen 2 days... looking forward to being back to baseline.

hey.. no problem!!

i am really glad to hear that you are feeling better, this is great news!! lampin with your girlfriend is time well worth spent... friends are so nice to have and release and relate to. i also think it is really awesome that you are "looking forward to being back to baseline"... it is really a wonderful place to be!!

hope things keep ticking along in a positive, forward motion for you, as i am sure they will!!

Update if anyone is interested.

Last night was experiencing insomnia and hallucinations so I took a 0.5 xanax to sleep.

Then I had the most crazy vivid lucid dreams, with about 5 "flase awakenings". Certainly one hell of a trip!

Tonight I'm trying to sleep and having the same problems. No Xanax at hand so I'm having a 2 beers to see if it will help me sleep.
