why are some benzos only approved for the short term treatment??

what does this really mean??

because ive been getting scripted 30mg temazepam pills for the past 5-6 months.....

and i just want to know if i should be expecting anything....

It means short term, weeks, or a maximum of a month in the case of benzodiazepines.

I don't even know how this related to your other questions, and it's not a question that anyone could answer. There are too many factors at play.

But I think your questions got answered pretty well by chromophobia. Benzos are notorious for addiction and terrible withdrawal once you become dependent on them.

We can't tell you what exactly your side effects will be. Do you take it every night? As prescribed, or more or less than prescribed? Do you ever take it during the day or multiple times a night? And we definitely can't tell you when or if your doctor will decide you no longer need temazepam. Try talking to him/her and having an open line of communication, it will be very helpful in the long run.

Well Chromophobia answered really, long-term benzo use causes addiction, and they're absolutely horrible to get off. If you don't taper down properly you can expect withdrawals to last for months too, or even years in the case of really severe addicts.
Not to mention the psychological damage while you're on them - memory loss, confusion, that sort of thing

You should really discuss other treatment options with your doctor.

Yes.

As prescribed, or more or less than prescribed?

Sometimes i take the 30mgs i am prescribed, sometimes i take only half a tablet.
I dont abuse it, or take it during the day.
I am also prescribed 3mgs of alprazolam daily, so 30mgs isnt as extreme to me as it is for others....

Dyou know how long your doctor intended for this treatment to last? Benzos just aren't a long-term solution, by now you're definitely physically - if not psychologically - addicted, even if you're taking them as prescribed.

I agrree with chrom and Pagey, benzos should not be used long term, and if they are. Then you should definitely not be using daily if you expect results to last for years to come.

That's what I did and still do. Have atleast a day or two in between doses, maybe even three especially with the lovely temazepam. I'd take it maybe 2 or 3 data out of the week.

Never been through benzo withdrawal, but I sure as fuck know I never want to experience them
