Question about temazepam dosage

Hiya peeps. Think this may be best suited in OD forum but thought best to check and put in homeless forum 1st as I read something about posts that mightn't come of any use to anyone else and just be useful for yourself (the OP). My doc put me on sleeping tabs which after 2 nights did nothing so he then changed my script to 10 mg's Temazepam. 1st night they did nothing so he said I could double the dosage. Is now 5 hours since took 20 mg's and still FA! Am wondering if it would be ok to take 30 mg's. Am not in it to get high- although if getting a high is needed to get to sleep then so be it! Temazepam is my 1st experience of benzos although have had past experiences of other recreationals. Any advice would be great- thankies!

Hi there, welcome to BDD!

Temazepam isn't the strongest benzo out there. Having said that, if you are benzo-naive and are already having to take more than 20mgs then your tolerance is likely to rise quickly, or it may not be the drug for you - some people don't find it works well for sleep at all. I would go back to your doctor and explain that it isn't working.. bear in mind too that benzos aren't a great long term option due to tolerance and physical dependence. Have you tried anything else for your sleep?

Be careful not to take any other downers (opioids, alcohol etc) with your temazepam as there is a risk of overdose..
