I have something I am a bit concerned about. I see a psychiatrist and gives me ADD meds. For insomnia I get trazodone, which doesn't work for me sometimes. This doctor is against prescribing ambien or benzos. I know ambien works because I had been prescribed it before.

I made an appointment with a sleep doctor to try and get Ambien. I AM going to tell the sleep doctor about my psychiatrist, but I was NOT planning to tell the psychiatrist about the sleep doctor. I was planning to continue to use the trazodone to sleep, and use the ambien for night the trazodone doesn't work.

Will the psychiatrist find out I went to a sleep doctor? Will the srhink see if I get ambien? Will they get angry and cut me off? I will be using the same insurance for both doctors. Thanks for any advice here.

I'm sorry, but we do not allow discussion on the legality of a situation or action since the closure of the Legal Discussion subforum.

I will say that at the very least, if you do go this route, be sure that you do indeed disclose your entire list of medication to the sleep specialist so that he can make an informed decision about your treatment options.

PM me with any questions or comments.
