Question about refilling a script

Ok, so I noticed that my brother has a bottle in the cabinent for some T3's. The original date filled says 11/29/01 and it says "Refils (1)" and "Refil by 5/08/02"...he doesn't use these anymore (they were for when he got his wisdom teeth removed). So my question is can I just bring the empty bottle to the pharmacy he got it filled at originally and give it to them saying he needs a refil or does a doctor need to call it in first? Also, will it look kinda suspicious since it was prescribed 3 months ago?
The other thing is that he works at the store the pharmacy is located in (it's a huge grocery store with a pharmacy in it) but I doubt they know him, but they would probabbly recoginize him if they saw him. Do you think this would work towards my advantadge if i had him bring it in? Or should I not even consider bringing it there in the first place (this is where it was originally filled though)...
Any other comments (what exactly to say, etc.) would be helpful, PhreeX, I am interested to see what you have to say about this...or anyone with knowledge on the matter, please help me out, thanks!

Well in my case it says, "Refil by 5/08/02" so that would be the "experiation date" on the refil if that's what you mean...we'll see what someone has to say about all this. I wish I would have paid more attention over the years as to what my parents did when they got refils on stuff!

You can probably do web refills, or just ask your bro to refill it for you. OR call it in from a phone that is not yours. When I have done something like this, I did a web refill from a public computer. All you need is the script # and the store #. Just don't look like a junkie and pay w/cash when you go to pick it up.

Ok cool...you don't think that it is going to look suspicious in any way since it was prescriped way back at the end of november and I am just refilling now? I mean i guess if they give you till may to refil then they can't really say anything since technically you can refil it.

Well, unless they know specifically why the drug was prescribed... For all they know it could be for occasional tooth pains or the like. People get vics/T-3's for headaches, which means a refill may not get used for a couple of months, so in theory a person could get a script for some kind of reoccuring mouth pain, that only gets used occasionally...But, just the same, if a refill is allowed, I doubt they would say anything. They are prolly too busy worrying about forged OxyContin scripts and the like. I doubt they would pay much attn to a few T-3's.
Oh, almost forgot. If you can get him to bring it in and refill it, they can't say a damn thing.

Only questions I have left are...does he need the original script or just the empty bottle (i would think the bottle cuz i've never gotten anything back for refils before)? and how you said if he goes in there to get it refilled...he's not 18 do you see this being a problem?

Bvosh Ameu! Look, you don't even need to bring them the bottle, if it's a "modern pharmacy" then you can use the automated re-fill system - hell, many pharmacies allow online refills - you just type in the refill # and as long as it's not before that "refill before" date, well, yer cool!
For some (worthless) T3's they are not going to csll the doctor, tney will just refill it and away you go - if you feel paranoid you can call it in on a weekend when they wont be able to reach the doctors office ...
CAN the pharmacist call the doctor to ask if a refill is still cool? Yeah, of course, and the doctor could even say "No" and you would be fucked .. will this happen? No, most likely not...

If it is his script, I don't think that not being 18 should be a prob. They probably won't even check ID or ask any questions. But phreex is right, just use automated call in or web refill. This makes things a lot easier.

ya don't even sweat it just call it in by phone or bring the bottle in you'll be fine. if they card u and say ur not him then say you'll refill it somwhere else. there only t3's there not OC 80's so just relax and go refill that script bro.there shouldn't be any problems

Like PhreeX said, just take it into the pharmacy. It doesn't even need to be in your name. I had my ex pick up T3s and birth control pills (obviously not for him!) for me all the time, never had a problem...
You can either call it in (call the number on the bottle and follow the directions that the automated pharmacy service will announce) or just bring the bottle in, you DONT need the original script.
Age of the person should not matter...hell it's even better if he is under 18, say that you are picking it up for your little brother if for some freaky reason they even ask you.

I doubt that you will have a problem with this script at all. It would have been a bit more difficult too soon after the first refil. Unless there are instructions on the refil that would clue the pharmacist that this was only for a certain procedure and a limited time. That script is yours and do go ahead and get it called in. If you use a large retail pharmacy to fill it first then try that one. If that fails, wail till later in the day when you know shift changes at that Rx. then go down to another and request a transfer. You should have no problem with that either. Speaking from experience where in Houston, pharmacists are trying to play the doctor and God with my refills.

Ok, well here's how it went today. First I was going to do it over the internet but then decided against that because; 1-I didn't know how long it took, 2-I didn't want them calling here saying it was ready in case they called at night when my parents were home. So I decided to do it over the phone with the automated service. It was really easy, just typed in the Rx#, and the time i wanted to pick it up (i made it as soon as possible). Then I went there immediately cuz I had a prescription of my own to get. When I dropped off my I casually asked if the prescription that my "mom" called in for my brother would be ready the same time my would...and she said that she would see that it got filled right now and told me to come back 15 minutes later. So I returned and picked them both up (along with one for my mom that just happend to be there), no questions asked. The best part about the whole thing is that it cost my a whopping $1.20! Glad my parents have insurance

I've had my dad's scripts of hydrocodone filled and refilled about every time he needed them. I just brought in the script and his ID and that was that.
So just bring your brother's ID just in case.

Pharmacists seem to be pretty trusting, as long as you don't look like a "filthy junky" and everything is legit with your script. It always used to kill me seeing ppl with refills left on their scripts that wouldn't get them filled, until I learned to just copy the script # and phone/web it in...Now it is smooth sailing, and I don't feel bad, cuz those ppl didn't need the meds anymore, and had NO plans to get them filled.

When you say you would just copy the script and phone/web it in, did you mean the person's phone number too? cuz mine isn't on the bottle, but when i called it in (or on the web) it asks for the last 4 digits of my home phone number (for verication purposes i suppose)...it's probabbly just the pharmacy that i use.

I always used wally world web (haha,www) and all they asked for was the name, the script #, and the store #. I have to create an acct for the person though, but it is not that hard. Some stores may operate differently though.
