Question about rebuilding my nose.

Hi,

I stopped taking drugs around a couple of months ago and have been completely clean since. Prior to that point I had taken various narcotics, primarily Mephedrone, Cocaine and MDMA in large amounts over a relatively short period of time (a year). One of the reasons for me stopping, other than various health issues, was because my nose had got worryingly thin. Ever since I've stopped it has started to become quite numb, especially down the middle. This numbness varies in intensity throughout the day and is also dependant on what orientation I'm in (e.g. If I'm lying down on my side it's much more noticeable than when I'm lying. On my back or standing up). I searched around for symptoms of septum perforation and none of those symptoms apply to me, which leads me to believe that I may have just avoided such damage. That Bing said I'm still quite concerned as I'm not sure whether nose structure etc continues to deteriorate even after drug use has stopped or whether it will simply begin to become more stable naturally over time, provided that I don't insufflate again. some advise or contributions would be appreciated.

yeah i would avoid getting unnecessary surgery on my nose. give it time to heal

you could go to a surgeon, get them to chop a chunk out of you nose and still not feel anything so if it is functioning, intact, not causing pain etc., no bleeding then i think just leave it for a while.

if you stop sticking drugs up there like cocaine which cuts off the blood supply or meph and mdma which are pretty caustic i'm sure it will be in the healing process already.

sounds like you have leftover paranoia and anxiety from abusing drugs with anxiety and paranoia as withdrawl/mental aftereffects
