Question about prescriptions

I live in Perth, WA and have been being treated lately for chronic epididymitis of my right testicle, it is extremely EXTREMELY painful and unless being treated with pain medication I cannot sleep, eat or even walk properly. My regular GP has been treating me with oxynorm 20mg and dilaudid 2mg but I am unable to see him for another few weeks and have already gone a week without ANY pain relief apart from the usual doses of ibuprofen and paracetamol.

I am going to make an appointment tonight with an after hours GP at the midland swan district hospital and am wondering if the doctor there can fill my usual medication script till I see my doctor again or if they are able to give me anything similar? Even if it isn't the strong ones I am on atm.

I have all my paperwork from royal perth hospital and my usual gp as well as every box of oxynorm, dilaudid, tramadol and panadeine forte I have been given to prove I am on these medications. Also I am on amitriptyline 25mg at night for sleep and neuropathic pain. Thanks guys, hope you can post back asap.

I think they can probably help you out man, if not I would be stocking up on codeine and rikodeine and self medicating. It really is fucking bullshit that people who need legitimate pain relief can be denied it just because the drugs are abusable. It really indicates to me the drug war has gone WAAAAAAAAAY too far when people are doing without medicines they need just because of some suspicion they may want to catch a buzz, like thats so horrible.

Good luck getting adequate pain relief buddy! I would hate to be in your shoes right now. CWE, rikodeine and DXM would be better than nothing if worst comes to worst.

Ok I just looked up on their site and it says the after hour gp's don't prescribe opiates and that I will need to see my regular GP or be seen at the hospital emergency department, but whenever I go to see the emergency department I am told I have to see my regular GP for anything stronger than panadeine forte. This does not make any sense. If I go to the emergency department tonight, what should I say/do?

heh i have this issue.. have had the cyst since i was like 12... It used to become inflamed and make me unable to walk etc...

hasn't happened in years though, and i haven't had the cyst removed.

that's exactly the same as me, i've had it since 12 and it hasn't caused any problems up until now

I wouldn't put too much weight into what the site says if your desperate, like if you have numerous boxes of recent narcotic prescriptions from the one doctor its worth a shot imho. I don't have any real pain management issues and as such have never really been scripted opioids. I do get scripted a lot of benzo's though, and most places that write me up have little signs saying they don't write prescriptions for drugs of dependance or keep any on premises. I know both these statements to be fase, so just because the site says that does not mean they can't help you.

Removed some off topic conversation, people have made there points. PM me if you have a problem with that.

Back on topic!

^ Ha ha OK I edited it and I guess someone will remove this too but fucking hell that was hilarious, I was reading that entire thread for some reason it went on for a few pages and then I finally got to the end and BOOM goes the dynamite, great pay off. :D
