Question about perscriptions...

First off, I want you all to know I already used the search button before asking my question.
I'm trying to get some more Ambien (I have been perscribed this once two months ago for sleeping). Can I go to the clinic and use the same act that I did before, or do they check my medical history to see that I have been perscribed it before? I'm not trying to score bags of this stuff, just a few for those long nights or a nice party.
The first time I went in, I was sick anyway and said I neeeded something to "help me sleep". I'm afraid that if I ask for Ambien by name, they will think that I'm abusing it because it's addictive, so I don't want to mention that I have taken it before unless they can see on my file that I was perscribed it before. I'm planning on going to a different clinic thats part of the same chain. I was told that my college clinic might be easier, as they don't care and students are known to ask for these types of scripts a lot.
Any advice would be much appriciated, thanks!

the doctors I see give that stuff away like candy. if i were to want it, what i would do is go see the family doctor that you have some sort of history with and tell them you're stressed about work/school/whatever and you've been having problems sleeping lately. tell them you've been prescribed ambien before and that it worked well.

Actually, they advertise that stuff so much, it would probably be ok to ask for it by name. Just say that you've heard good things about Ambien, and you would like to try it. I just directly asked my Dr. for "Ambien", and he gave me 2 months worth. My college clinic only gave me 1 weeks worth.

Yeah, almost anyone can walk into the doctor and say "Hey, i cant sleep, do you think Ambien will help?" You'd be amazed how easy it is to pursuade (sp?) doctors, i mean, your paying them like a 100 dollars or more an hour, they will hand you the world in order to keep your business.

Are you kidding me? I think most doctors value their license ($100,000+ in education, years of their life spent studying) more than your business.
No, Ambien isn't hard to get; as far as I know, its the only controlled substance that is adverstised on TV. But (act surprised) Ambien is barely worth the trip to the doctor IMO.
As for real prescription drugs, good luck with your persuasive skills.

Although it's somewhat of a bullshit claim, Ambien is marketted as being non-addictive. Physically it isn't, but it's definantly something you could become psychologically addicted to.
Anyways, simply say you're having a very difficult time sleeping. You get over-stimulated after studying for school. You're only getting maybe 4 hours of sleep a night and you're tired all day but you still can't sleep. And then say Ambien really helped when you were taking it. Ambien is one of the most easy to score pharmaceuticals.

I'm not trying to score bags of this stuff, just a few for those long nights or a nice party.
A nice party? Do you mean taking it during the party, or after? Because I really can't see the appeal of falling asleep at a party or being completely incoherant and having delusional hallucinations.

That would be nice, but amphetamines tend to be a bit more controlled then Ambien. But, I'm sure that you already knew that. I did see an amusing ad in Parade for Adderall XR. "Get a hold of ADD
with ADDerall XR. It also had a little blurb saying how amphetamines have been extensively abused, etc. It just surprised me to see an ad for amphetamines in a Sunday newspaper supplement.

Interesting thought! I have never had a patient coming in with a $100 bill and asking me for stuff and me caving in at the sight of that money!! I have been threatened with far worse. No, I do not think that ruse would work. Simple honety might, like, doc I need something to help with sleep for a few days etc.
