Recently I took 4g of shrooms mixed with a blueberry smoothie. I soaked the shrooms overnight in lemon juice, added blueberries and almond milk. About 2/12-3 hours in pain was so intense had to lay down and eventually told my wife. Of course nothing to do but wait it out.
I’ve had my gallbladder removed and I take omeprazole for indigestion and gerd, wonder why mushrooms cause stomach and abdominal pain?
Can anything be done or taken to bypass stomach pain?

I wish I had a good answer for you. I know a lot of 5ht receptors are in the gut.. If you're getting the same effect from extract where you not dealing with all the fungi chitin, then I'm not sure. Maybe take ginseng at same time so you can occupy those 5HT2C receptors??

Do you get stomach pain from other psychedelics too?
I assume you filtered out the actual biomass?

Have you had other mushroom experiences recently without stomach pain? are there any other circumstances (not necessarily psychedelics) in which you are prone to stomach pain?

I have had significant GI pain from mushrooms once, and then on other trips at the same dose with the same material, I had no problems. I also had significant GI pain after a dose of cactus tea, but this also seemed to be a one time thing.

Not only does the digestive tract have a lot of serotonin receptors, but it is usually exposed to higher concentrations of orally consumed drugs than the rest of your body. How your gut will actual respond from one trial to another is a bit unpredictable. Not only does the gut secrete a lot of serotonin, but many gut bacteria produce 5-HT and likely other 5-HT agonists too.

That said, I think mushrooms have a strong reputation for causing GI discomfort compared to most other psychedelics, and I'm skeptical that these problems can be addressed using the often recommended kitchen extractions. Mushrooms give me more early trip nausea than most things for sure and is one reason they are not my favorite. They may just be poor match for you unfortunately.

I had some chocolate squares that caused pain also.

Well you can try again, maybe at a lower dose, and see if your stomach mellows out with repeated exposure. I think that can work for some people, but it may be that mushrooms just aren't for you. You wouldn't be the first.
