Question about meth wash

A friend told me that instead of using a funnel you can wrap methamphetamine in the filter and dip it in the acetone. Then pull it out and let it drain. Is this as effective as using a funnel? Any info would be appreciated.

It's probably not quite as effective as using a funnel, but yes, as long as none of the meth spilled out, your method would work fine.

if you did it this way, you would want the meth to sit in the acetone for at least 10-30 secs... but it still wouldnt be as effective. The 'non-meth' that you are trying to wash out needs to be able to get disolved in the acetone, thats why the funnel method will work best, as the acetone can wash over the meth.

I like to wash it in the washer with about a half cup of laundry detergent...but that's just me.

What type of funnel should I use, and where should I obtain it from. I don't want to use a funnel that the acetone will corrode.
Also, the crystals that are left in the bottom of the jar that I used when the acetone dissolves- Are these good or bad? Thanks for the info!

acetone will corrode plastic, so you will need something metal.
but, the easiest way to do a wash, is get something like a glass bowl or cup... ideally with a flat bottom and straight sides.
add the meth, then pour in the acetone, you dont need too much. swish it around for about 10-20 secs and then tilt it on its side and let all the meth settle into the corner.
next, carefully tip the bowl, so the meth stays in the corner, but the acetone is pooled at the other side.
then, just let it all dry.
preferablly, disolve the meth in water/ethanol and let it evaporate off slowly, to get some nice big crystals
