Hi I have been doing ecstasy for a long time now. Last year on 4/20/12 I took a pill that messed up my jaw. My jaw took a while to recovery. But ever since then my jaw feels uncomfortable.
-My lower jaw always has tension
-Every time my teeth are semi close to each other my mouth just shivers
- when ever I open my mouth really wide and try to close it, it shivers.
-I rarely keep my teeth touching each other because it shivers.
-Whenever I get really nervous (ex: If I am going to present something) my mouth shakes like crazy
-Whenever I am really cold (ex: going to the beach. In the beginning my mouth shakes to the extreme more then the normal.

- My big problem is I can't stop doing ecstasy when I go events so I roll about every big event. So usually 3, 2, or even 1 month apart.
I'm also wondering if I am addicted because I obviously can't go to a huge event not rolling but the fact that at one rave event my jaw kept shaking before I rolled.
So it makes me think that my body is craving for it.

Could it be stress as well? because I'm a stressed busy person lol and I want to party and relax when i get the chance>.<
I really want to stop doing ecstasy but its just too much fun. I only do it at these events. Is there other ways that will help me relax my jaw? I hope this wont become permanent.
Will I have to stop doing ecstasy till this problem goes away?
Please give me as much info as possible thanks guys!

This is an interesting one. How long after using (how long into sober land) does this effect last? I would say its muscle fatigue or fatigue in those areas that control the jaw. Like how your limbs might tremble or malfunction after heavy exercise.

Just a logical guess though. If its not that but the drug and its a side effect then you might want to consider deceasing usage. If it happens when you are sober and its not muscles or something it might indicate Serotonin activity (or some other stimulation like SNS activity) when sober which might be something you should get checked out, IF thats the case.

Before using might be anticipation or anxiety, like how I always need to take a shit before I use or buy other stims (due to the anxiety/must shit response lol)? Perhaps some weird learned response related to addiction, like x smokers always reaching for a non existent smoke or something. Not sure, now im just guessing. Would be interested in other responses.

The jaw shit is a nightmare. I wear my MDMA users badge of honor like many others. A chipped front tooth and a doctor asking questions about grinding.

Also definitely always take chelated magnesium when using and probably every day, i do, its awesome for meth and amps with amny positive effects and reduces side effects, also reduces jew clenching a lot, im sure its good for MDMA as well.

To confirm how regular is your usage? Is it once a month or two months for events like you mentioned?

All drugs give all people different positive, negative and neutral effects. Maybe you are unlucky on the jaw part.. my jaw still had tension almost 24 hours after i did 450mg my first time...
The Jaw gets serious affection from MDMA.. but if you have issues while sober.. who knows? maybe you are doing too much, or you have to do a 100 day break or something..
relax, find a way to solve this and try to take a looong ass break if ur jaw has problems. MDMA aint gonna make it better

Yeah the jaw will be tired and stiff for a while into sober land so some effect can be felt for a while still but OP confirm this symptom and when it happens in terms of usage to gain clarity on the possible causes and if its the above or not..

Hey I've had the same thing last year. All the same symptoms except with added clenching/flexing jaw muscles when trying to relax. There was a time when I couldn't fall asleep properly, because my jaw was the last thing that would relax. It's much better now, I hardly even notice it anymore, so I'd say it goes away on its own but you could help by practicing not doing it, and not obsessing much about it.

Edit: Oh, and caffeine makes it worse. Tenfold.

Yeah i guess its to be expected and im sure abusing some other muscle beyond its normal capacity will cause it to malfunction and freak out. Just be careful, you dont want to break it in some way, treat it well. No chewing, no food, no food, no good things to follow.

You know i got severe bruxism every night because mdma after a long term anxiety comedown? your simptons was mine...and are today btw.
im dealing with my last battle against the neurotoxicity, the tmj and bruxism.
I got shivering theet while are closer. i got tension every night. The splint for bruxers is not workin. Im takin clonazepam for fight bruxism any other way im destroyin my jaw joint seriously. if somebody go throught this please...advices welcome :) ! even if this wont go away...

my advice for the post author is that i have a big comedown after that tiny simptons...just think twice ;) i loved too mdma.
