Question about IV'ing

So I use ketamine a few times a month. The first time I had it I went straight to using it IV, and I've tried all the other routes but IV is by far my favorite. I had some cheap ass brand 29gauge 1/2" walgreens brand insulin pins the first time and had zero problem hitting a vein, pulling back on the plunger and getting blood (is this what ppl call registering?).

After doing about 100 injections the past few months (low doses don't last long) I have a pretty good idea about what it feels like to get into a vein. I got a box of sure comfort insulin syringes 29g and I can't fucking get any blood no matter where the fuck I stick. I can pull back on the plunger when I fuckin know damn well I'm in a vein and get nothing and sometimes a small spurt of blood will go into the rig but then when I try aspirating again no blood (without moving the needle).

Basically the plunger action on this brand is complete shit. Could it be just the quality that is causing me these problems? I never even tried to use a tourniquet before this and that still doesn't help. Blood to thick for the small gauge? I have some BD on the way since I figure a higher price better fuckin mean better quality. So again, could it just be the brand since I had zero problem with this before?

29 gauge is plenty big enough. Normally I use 31. I would say its the type/brand. I only can hit with 1/2 cc bp 31 gauge. Even the same brand in the 1cc has terrible vacuu/suction properties.
