Question about IV'ing methamphetamine and 'nodding'

When I used to use, I remember sometimes, right after shooting up (a large dose) I would be extremely tired and actually FALL ASLEEP. I'm not sure how long I'd be out for, but I'd then wake up and be super wired. I'm confused, being that meth is a stim, and I am absolutely *positive* it was not laced. My (ex)boyfriend was a cook and I was the driver. I know exactly how that stuff was made. Has anyone else experienced this? Why would it make me nod out?

Also, I remember before this ever happened to me, my (ex)boyfriend shot a big dose and he basically had 8 or more different personalities he would cycle through between 'nods', but upon awakening, had no recollection of this whatsoever. Some of the personalities included: paranoid, accusational, angry, happy, silly, goofing off, sad, indifferent, etc. I know he's mentally unstable but could this have been a side effect from the meth, all psychosis aside? Does this happen to other people?
 
Not too sure exactly, but it might be to do with the sudden vasoconstriction limiting blood supply to brain. It seems a not-uncommon symptom of quite a lot of stims.
 
I can't explain anything regarding the drowsiness, but given that your ex is / was a cook - he's exposed to a large amount of dangerous byproduct from the synthesis. Stimulant-based paranoia is all the more likely given that tid-bit (and would explain the temporary schizophrenia).

I get drowsy often when shooting ice, it's why I shoot to begin with. Oddly enough to some friends, I not only expect, but look forward to and rely on the calming drowsiness I get from slamming ice and I don't mind not getting a 'rush' from it or 'tasting it', though it doesn't seem that way for my friends.

How it started: Already had sleeping problems since childhood, that and nerd power let me stay up long periods (3-4 days sober). Almost a week with after last usage is uncommon but has happened, so a bump or bowl can have me up for a day or two after I've been sober quite awhile. Discovered the art of shard slamming and it was the first time I fell asleep within a day of doing any useful amount. Love at first needleprick. Now, of course, unless it's a bowl or bump with buddies or at work when I forget my kit, I generally only go with the vein and I enjoy the high so much more with a deep appreciation of how less hectic it feels. Drowsiness goes away in about 15-45 minutes, so if I don't lay down and try to rest I missed my window until I can re-dose, usually not a big deal. Another plus side is that I can easily bang 5x more in a shot than I would dare to snort considering how much shards fucking burn, so there is always that. Have a love/hate thing going on with the bowl, enjoy the fast effect and the shorter duration (1/2 a day instead of 1 and a 1/2 days) but it's just way to easy to pass around that bowl and 40 minutes later it's the next day and 18 hours have shoved themselves underneath your friends couch, never to be seen again. Time travel is often annoying.

Oh and first post, nice to meet everyone. Long time on/off lurker, this was the first thread I felt the need to contribute to. Hopefully I'll be a bit more chatty now that I've gone through that whole 2-minute registration ordeal.

P.S. Just a did a shot, eyes got heavy for about 10 minutes. That was just the morning coffee type of "time-to-fix-washing-machine-before-work" shot, not the "It-takes-an-hour-or-two-to-go-from-Tuesday-to-Friday-morning-and-I'm-getting-tired-of-shadow-people-whispering-my-name-and-singing-"Walking on Sunshine"-because-it's-distracting-me-from-talking-to-the-wall-while-I-wait-for-all-of-time-to-die-and-holy-shit-I-could-totally-use-a-fucking-nap" shot. Sorry for rambling, figured it may be a bit expected in speed threads.

Perfect!! Sounds completely legit... I've tried googling it but apparently google doesn't use drugs - especially not IV meth!! So I believe it when you say stims = constricted veins = limited blood supply (which includes oxygen) to the brain. Lack of oxygen = drowsiness. You just might be a genius :D
How come I never thought of that?? Lol
 
=D Not sure if i'm a genius, I wouldn't be surprised if the idea came to me one day when I was stimmed up and looking at my cock and thought 'hmm, I wonder if the same thing's happening to my brain'
