Heroin Question about heroin from my area

So heres my question. When searching through threads here ive seen people refering to dope in theyre area as “eastside #4” and other things like that. So can anyone with some expertise on heroin tell me more about the dope i get? Im near seattle, WA and the dope we get is called pure, even though rarely you can get bags where you can taste cut when your smoking it . Its a dark brown, sometimes black. it is kind of hard and sticky, has a strong acetic smell, and usually takes a while to dissolve for a shot. It is amazing dope though for sure, one or two points in a shot hits hard. Does anyone know what number heroin this is so to speak? And what are some of the common cuts? The only cut ive ever heard of is brown sugar. Any help will be greatly appreciated, its always good to know more about a substance that you administer intravenously.

That's black tar heroin, which is all there is on the West Coast (more or less). It's not #4 heroin, which usually comes in a powdered form I believe.

Be careful when IVing tar, it's generally believed to be harsher on your veins than the powdered variety.

Erik is right. Thats black tar H, its probably been washed with something or sometimes it may come off as an acetic smell. I personally would not slam it. That stuff is best left to the method you would do for opium balls, smoke it and enjoy. Hope this helps. If it doesnt can you be more specific on the contents you have EXACTLY, is there powder in there or just sticky tar like substance?

"Heroin #3" is a white to off-white powder that is freebase heroin (not heroin acetate salt) mixed with caffeine, 50:50. (I think it's mixed with caffeine... I keep hearing that but as i don't actually do H I've never been sure) It won't dissolve nicely in water. It's mostly seen in Europe and is "designed" for smoking. Sometimes people mix it with a little acid (Vitamin C or citric acid) to dissolve it for injection.
"Heroin #4" is again an off-white to white powder. It's heroin acetate or hydrochloride in a fairly pure form. It dissolves nicely in water and is meant for snorting or injection. It's mostly popular on the East Coast and in Europe.

Black tar heroin is what the rest of the world gets, it's a crude product that is directly derived from opium. It shouldn't be injected without micron filtration because it's plant material.

No there isnt any powder in the dope we get now. There have been bags ive gotten in the past that have been a tanish, sticky powder, and when you pour it in your hand and breathe on it, it turns that dark brown color and the same sticky consistency. People in our area refer to that dope as gunpowder and it was usually a poorer quality then the “pure” we get now. Are these two different forms of dope? Or is the stuff that we get now just better quality and already breathed on? Thanks for the help guys. Im not to knowledgeable on the different forms of heroin outside of personal experience and what naive drug dealers have told me.

And to better explain the consistency, its usually hard, and snaps when you break a piece off, (although sometimes its gooey and tar like, but usually that means lower quality) no powder is present in it, I have seen people cut it with brown sugar in a magic bullet. So is this tar? and if so what are other common cuts used?

^ Yea man, it's tar, which actually is #4. Some common cuts are lactose, but that is usually when it is being made into "gunpowder" which is the powder form of tar, which will actually turn back into tar when humidity is around.

Sometimes tar is hard and looks like obsidian, and other times it is more pliable and it a gooey texture.
