Question about getting on Suboxone..

Hello!

My friend swim was an IV herion user for three years. One of his friends who was also using iv heroin was able to get on the suboxone program and was succsesfull. One year ago swim also began taking subs, (by purchasing them from his friends) and was able to get clean of the heroin himself. Swim is tired of paying street prices and having to still commit an illegal act to get them and wants to get on the program himself so that he has his own..

Now here is his question: When he finds an opening at a certified doctors office should swim tell the doctor his 'real' story, (about getting clean himself by buying them off the street and having succsess with them for a year and that he needs his own script so that he doesnt have to buy from the street?) or should swim go in acting like he has no proir knowledge or experience with suboxone and revert to the herion to prove that he has a dependance and needs them?

Hopefully I worded this question right, he just wants on the program and needs advice how best to do it from this point.

Yep. Tell the doctor the truth. Sub is intended to keep people from high risk lifestyles. Telling him the truth will prove to him that sub will be removing you from a high risk lifestyle.
