Question about DXM

Lately I have been considering taking dxm, i have done a little reasearch and was just wondering if it is safe to take Robitussin DM syrup. (Controls Cough & Chest Congestion)

The two active ingredients per 10ml are: Guaiphenesin 200mg, Dextromethorphan Hydrobromide 30mg.
Also contains: Ethanol (Alcohol) 40mg/mL (4.8% v/v) Sodium benzoate and Saccharin Sodium. This product contains sorbitol (21.67/40mL)

Btw I live in Australia and i believe we do not have access to products(other than Robitussin DX) that contain only Dxm.

Don't do it.

Consider that DXM alone can make you sick... and you want to add 2 GRAMS(!) of that horrid guaifenisin shit on top of it? You will feel horribly nauseous and probably puke your guts out.

If you can't find DXM-only products in any stores where you live, then simply look online.

It would be safe technically speaking. But alot of people report nausea associated with guaif. It never bothered me but AFAIK nausea is very very common with it.

my god, be careful with guafinisen. the second time i ever dexed i tried to top off my dose with some mucinex....holy fuck. felt amazing the first hour, was puking/crawling/dying for the next 3 or 4

do you have vicks over in Australia? If so there is one called vicks 44 dry cough that contains 30mg of dxm per serving and nothing else.

I do not promote the use of DXM, but if you want to be as safe as possible, Robitussin has 15mg gelcaps that contain only dxm. Over the counter, this is about as safe as it gets. Be careful, and start slow. I have known two people that died from DXM, so keep this in mind before trying to get high for 5 bucks at the corner store.

I love DXM personally so I'd say it is worth it. The most I've done of it while it having the Guaifenesin was a 4oz bottle and a half, I didn't throw up but it did make me feel sick, so it wouldn't be a very nice time for your first time. Just get pure DXM and decide if you like it first.
