the thienyl version was covered in the naphyrone ban.
though as glenjih thio substituted cathinones survive, I'm pretty sure the amphetamine cousins are strongly active as MAOIs. according to Mauricio Osorio-Olivares, Marcos Caroli Rezende, Silvia Sepulveda-Boza, Bruce K. Casselsc and Angelica Fierro: MAO inhibition by arylisopropylamines: the effect of oxygen substituents at the b-position Bioorganic & Medicinal Chemistry, 12 (2004), 4055–4066 the plain cathinone versions ie 4-methiocathinone etc are similar as MAOIs as amphetamine, there's no data for the methcathinone versions though.

glenjih, per wiki, cathine is Schedule IV in the United States, so that's an interesting point, not to derail it anymore, as I know you're talking about laws in the United Kingdom.

The problem with trying to skirt the cathinone ban is that anything that actually breaks the ban will be inactive, harmful, or otherwise unpleasant.
Cathines are far more polar than cathinones which are already pushing it in terms of central and perhipheral effetcs ratios. I would imagine the cathine analog of mephedrone would be pretty gnarly and be incredibly adrenergic; it's the supposed reason for a share of mephedrone's bad side effects (turning purple etc) as it doesn't cross the blood brain barrier as well as meph itself.
I don't even want to think about alkylthio or aryl-substituted cathinones. Para-phenylcathinone sounds like a bad, bad idea, and even compounds like 2c-T-7 have whispers about MAOI activity. Mephedrone was bad enough and some people won't touch it with a ten foot pole.

None that I would touch with the aforementioned bargepole. Cast your net wider - there are actually some amazing RCs around at the moment. But they ain't cathinones. Thankfully.

Indeed there are. But I'm looking for a euphoric-empathic non-psychedelic stimulant - seems to be a lack of them at the moment (for now).

There's also plenty of amphetamine available. I'm sure the cathinone-based RCs will soon show up in the illicit/black market along side the other street drugs that have been there the whole time.
It's pretty clear that a lot of vendors are shipping the banned substances under different "names" and leaving the legality aspect of it up to the consumer.

Yeah I can still get Mephedrone quite easily and it's one of my favourite drugs. I like experimenting with new things though.
