Opioids question about bioavailability of OP 80 vs. roxi 30

I know you are not supposed to talk about prices,

What would be better for a 10-yr opiate addict, eating an Opana 80 or shooting a roxi 30? I am experienced with shooting roxi 30's but the price of my street connects is lower for the OP 80 than the roxi 30. I know it is hard to shoot or snort an OP 80, and I know how to shoot a roxi 30, but basically I know how to do the roxi 30's in a rig and I was wondering if the overall experience would be better to just take the OP 80 than shoot the roxi 30. Plz give me an idea about which would do me better, I am trying to make an informed decision. I have not snorted or ate anything for the past 3 years because of how great shooting feels, but the cost is making me take this question into consideration. I want to do the "right thing" in terms of getting the most messed up but I am doubtful about eating anything. Thank you.

Okay cool that clears something up for me.. but would taking an oral oxycontin 80 (80 mgs of oxycodone) be better than shooting a roxicodone 30 (30 mgs of oxycodone), or is that just a matter of opinion?

80mg Oxycodone time released is like a 30 mg oxycodone tablet that lasts twice as long.

Both are almost as effective orally as they are IV - I would eat the OP 80.

Don't IV those OP's. that shit is terrible. Even if someone can "get past" the anti-abuse mechanism, it still isn't safe to shoot.

I would eat the 80

Definitely eat the OP 80, only way to go with it. As far as which one will last longer, definitely the OP 80. Thing is you were shooting pills & now you are making the change because its getting expensive. I thought when pills get too expensive to eat or snort, then you move on to the needle, not the other way around.

When the OP 80's came around here and people were forced to actually take them, many people thought they were actually stronger than OC's. This is because oxy has a higher oral bioavailability. You just have to be patient; it might take two hours to feel anything close to a rush, depending on your metabolism and all that.
Other people would take 3 or 4 OPs (again when they first came out), and end up in the hospital or damn-near there a few hours later.

interesting

Thanks for the replies everyone,

Even after all this advice, I still feel like the coating on an oxy 80 would make the release of the drug too slow for me. And my guess is the reason that it is less expensive to get the 80 is because of said coating that pretty much prevents shooting or snorting, which would be no problem with the roxi. Of course I would go after H to get the most "bang for my buck", uhh, no pun intended, but I live in a more backwoods area that does not offer it (or I have never been lucky enough to stumble upon it). I was able to find an sublingual 8mg suboxone the other day when I was feelin kinda sick and I was blown away by how effective it was. I am attributing that to the naloxone part.

I'm all about gettin' my fix on but the scariness of the time-release/anti-abuse coating stuff scares the crap out of me, especially because I tried shooting a purple morphine pill (after getting the coating off and following instructions) and it gave me a pretty decent rush but made me feel "pins and needles" along with nausea. Obviously those effects can happen on opiates it just didn't "feel right" and I think it was because some of the coating "did it's job" to thwart the seedy junky.. I guess what I'm saying is I have a mental block about stuff being coated that makes me scared to shoot it as well as a perceived "gettin' messed up" dropoff from just takin' this oxy orally (see it just sounds wrong) since I feel I would be wasting it.

Okay I'm rambling, thanks for the advice and I guess today I will pop my "taking an oxy orally" cherry. If anyone has any more insight about my hesitance to do that, or would like to urge me to stop being stubborn and just take it already, please share. Force of habit is hard to overcome, I'm sure some of you know what I'm talkin about.

You're used to shooting, its normal to be nervous about using a new method of administration. However, orally is the safest of all the methods of taking drugs, so you've got that going for ya.

Just pop it, man.

Νeedle is a needle, oral is...well, maybe..it's the needle addiction man, everything can be shootable, right?

I'm not sure how you guys figure that taking the OP 80 would be better. It will last longer, sure, if by "it" you mean a very unimpressive, just nearly registering, barely noticeable "high."

In my experience, neither one will do the trick. I wouldn't waste my time or money on either one unless I could afford to buy enough of whatever substance, whatever pill, to get me right.

depends what you like about the high. if you want the rush obviously you gotta put it in your veins (and you might as well get H because shooting pills is dumb), but when it comes to oxys popping em is the best bang for your buck. it lasts 2-3x longer and feels cleaner than snorting or shooting.

I never liked the high or feeling I got from oxycodone when chewing & eating them. Snorting might not last as long but the high is a ton better.

I disagree, i think orally is way better than snorting them, oxycodone has such a high oral BA that you're wasting much of it snorting and oxycodone is oxycodone, how can the high be better? it may hit you a little faster but thats it. I used to snort them also but i started eating them and stayed higher and for much longer.

I snorted one the other day and it did absolutely nothing as in a high, nor did it even relieve my back pain.

I never understood the whole "you're wasting it" thing; I mean, whatever is not absorbed by the mucus membranes in your nose will drip down your throat and will be absorbed by the stomach. In fact, this is exactly what they've found in heroin users who snort heroin. They observed not one but two peaks in morphine plasma concentration, suggesting that the first occurred when the heroin was absorbed via the mucus membranes in the user's nose and the second occurred once the heroin that dripped down the user's throat had been absorbed by the stomach. If this is true for heroin, then why not oxycodone?
