Stimulants Question about amphetamines.. Why do people do them recreationally?

I got my hands on a pill last week somehow for free. it was a quality pill going around here right now that everybody is loving apparently,
so considering it was free I said hey, screw it... Lets try it out again ( I remember it being fun as a kid )

sniffed half and popped the other half and began playing some video games

As it kicked in , All it really did for me was make me sweat from my armpits like a barbarian, and clean my room and chat to buddies on aim like someone on speed would do alone at home lol.
, But despite me being so active, mind racing, heart rate increased... I still feel like going to bed? I eventually just went to bed after like an hour or 2 because I was bored
(I dont find amphetamines much of a "high") , I cant see any recreational value from it unless maybe a student needing to study ect

I do understand MIXING this drug with say MDMA for a rave night or something, but im talking about STRICTLY amphetamines. and not METHAMPHETAMINES either because i have no experience with them unless ive done it ass amphetamine in pills which more than likely I have (I think meth metabolizes into amph when eaten anyways if im not mistaken)

anybody else like this?? I think Ive had ones occasion where I stayed up all night due to amphetamines strictly, and that was because I spent most the night attempting to get a boner to bang a girl.
(for a drug called an upper you wouldnt think your dick would do the complete oposite lol)

edit: I used to do amphetamines as a kid years ago when I was 13 or something , I do have experience with this drug and I did take good stuff if thats what someones gonna say

Yeah, ADD meds dont really offer Much in the Way of Euphoria, That ive noticed.

but depending on the dosage, they can get you high.

ImO Amphetamines are more usefull as a tool, then a recreational drug

made on the street. cause if its the former, its pure, but could be too low of a dose. if its the latter, then it could be something else, like methamphetamine. Methamphetamine is MUCH easier to synth for a cladestine chemist, because the precursor chems are more available (pseudoephedrine). street amphetamine is less common that methamphetamine, unless its adderall.

You likely took too low of a dose. Try a higher dose next time.

Plus, different personalities are attracted to different types of drugs. People with anxiety problems tend to be attracted to alcohol, benzos, opiates, etc. People with depression problems tend to be attracted to stimulants. If you're kind of high-strung already, you probably won't like stimulants very much.

The thing I liked about amphetamines is that they give you lots of energy, and also they put an end to premature ejaculation. While regular amphetamine tends to add to the sexual frustration, methamphetamine seemed to make sex much more enjoyable in low amounts. I had much more control over when I came, for example.

They can be decently euphoria, and sometimes they can be surprisingly euphoria. The doses for high levels of euphoria are not those used for AD(H)D. Theraputic doses generally are supposed to be lower than a the point where it's pharmacological effects start to become more involved in another receptor systems. Some people don't realize that to benefit from amphetamines motivational, attentional, anti-hyper active, etc. effects do not always coincide with euphoria or even recreational effects. Some people think thay they are supposed to have euphoria, and they keep increasing their dose when it decreases during daily use as they feel the therapeutic effects have decreased (when they really have not!). I believe at lower doses their is mainly NE release and NE reuptake inhibition, which will cause a down stream effect of dopaminergic neurons. Different concertations with effect the release of dopamine, and the transporters differently. The same with the duration of amphetamine concentration. This can lead to different modes of action on dopamine neurons. There is also a selectivity of dopamine neuron locations at different levels of doses, leading to different types of effects.

Amphetamines dont strike me as anything but either performance or work enhancing. If you Like feeling all sketchy and shit I guess you can try to get a buzz but to much and you need something else to bring you down or you are generally lost in space for awhile

Amphetamines are just really euphoric if you take the right amount. I love the generic stimulant euphoria so much its embarrassing. As far as drug experiences go its one of the stupidest...It either turns you into an obnoxious prick or a horny obnoxious prick...And the second its over that's it. You don't look back on the memory with fondness but with jealousy. Loads of people loathe amphetamine for all of this, but it seems you just don't enjoy it. The highest most earth-shattering euphoria I've ever had was that first 25mg Adderall XR I took, first drug I had ever taken too. Best euphoria ever, MDMA and methamphetamine were awesome, but that first speed high had never been beaten for me...my first oxycodone is a different story though...that was epic.

Actually, the best I've ever felt in my entire life was 60mg dextro-amphetamine with 20mg oxycodone (had no tolerance back then, 20mg to me now wouldn't do jack) and a 10mg methadone...It...was....so AWESOME. Speedy, nodding, maximum euphoria...just so wonderful....now I'm fiending, great...

That's why I like most amphetamines. Because the effects can't really surprise if you know what you're taking, unlike psychs/opiods.

Seriously, though, it's probably just the way your particular neural system happens to be that determines if you get the euphoria I do or not. Much like some cannot stand the effects of cannabis, or some experience far too much nausea from opiates. Different metabolism, different native neurochemistry = different alteration of brain/body.

I love amphetamines they were great when I was still taking classes. But I prefer crystal to any prescribed amphetamine. To me it felt cleaner, stronger, was way more recreational. There's no comparable feeling, really

the pill I did was a street pressed pill sold as "speed" , wasnt Adderall or whatever (which ive tried and did nothing to me either, and I did a lot of it too apparently)

ive done speed plenty of times when I was younger, so I do know what the experience is all about, I remember getting a "high" but thats because it was my first hard drug ever.
after doing MDMA, Opiates, even dissociatives such as ketamine and dxm are and were way more fun than speed. I dont know I dont mean to judge amph users or anything like that , I used to do cocaine for a hell of along time until even cocaine at any dose, just made me paranoid lol so i quit it. which is kinda why I tried speed again, and yeah nothing.

Speed never made me "fucked" up except for sweat and wanna clean shit and do something. cept for the very FIRST time I did it , which was the very first time I ever did hard drugs lol so it was like a whole new world just doing something other than marijuana.

/e basically what I was asking is if theres anybody that has the same experience as me? going from using uppers/loving them to quitting them simply because they started doing reverse effects

yeah dude Ive done these exact pills, I did 3 of them maybe 3-5 weeks ago for the first and only time (my time perception is so shit lol had a wild few months . but yeah it did nothing. ,i got sweats, played a bit of vid games n went to bed lol the girl that gave me them was so surprised when she realized I fell asleep after i stopped answering her texts a few hours after she gave me them lol

I am not a big fan of amphetamines, but I have had a blast on them before. I took 60 mg instant release adderal and got FUCKING high. It felt like a more stable, longer lasting version of cocaine (which is of course pretty much what it is). I would put my hands on my head and would still feel them there even after I removed them. The euphoria was excellent, I was happy to be doing whatever and would carry on conversations relentlessly. The biggest problem, and the main reason I am not a fan, is the comedown. I was helplessly depressed afterwards, and did not sleep the whole night (I had taken them at around 8 am in the morning).

I'm pretty sure you didn't take enough. It is difficult to find one ADD pill that will get you where you want to be.

my friend just OD'd on speed because he said the asme thing, that its just not the same as speed and he tried chasing the cocaine high with speed but ended up OD'ing

so maybe the quality of speed here isnt good , because the cocaine me and myfriend have access to is incredible.
Great cocaine to me will awlays be my favorite upper by far, just its expensive and most people get shitty terrible cocaine so.. yeah this thread has a lot of factors to throw in

amph's here in quebec are known to be crap im pretty sure.. I rmeember hearing when I was younger that quebec is #1 in North America for shitty/cut pills

100mg of adderall isn't shit, i've taken 200mg of dexedrine AT ONCE, and killed more than 400mg a night of dexedrine on a few occasions, its called do speed a lot and you get a tolerance ,and tolerance doesn't really go away.
i never tried cocaine, but in my limited experience with crystal (only used a gram so far, is a bitch and a HALF to get in the northeast), crystal isn't really that much different than regular speed when you snort it (i dont like snorting crystal for this reason..only got proper hgih snorting glass once, because i kept snorting more and more, instead of giving up after snorting a bump, not getting a full high, and deciding to not do more/save it for when i could smoke it)...
Smoking crystal though...that rush...the high from smoked methamphetamine is one of if not the best feelings i've ever felt in my entire life..
That thick white smoke....i'd take a fat sack of crystal over getting my dick sucked, no doubt in my mind.

Crystal is like pharm speed but it feels cleaner, snorted its not too much more euphoric (but is a bit noticeably cleaner in effect IMO), but smoked its incredibly euphoric IME and the smoking high is more chill (in a good way, feels a lot clearheaded/cleaner)than the snorted high too
and about unhealthy, well of course taking 100mg adderall is unhealthy, taking any amount of speed is unhealthy, other than with regards to neurotoxcity (and addictive potential, least IMO), speed is just as bad as crystal IMO. Crystal is just a lot more reinforcing/moreish when you smoke it and its easier to take high doses (because of how cheap it is and whatnot, and how you can buy points, quarter-gs, half g's, grams etc. of relatively pure crystallized methamphetamine instead of buying 5-30mg tablets of amphetamine)

I did speed because then i became who i wanted to be. Mixing it with weed back in the days was my favourite. Like walking on clouds through the shitty town i lived in.
