Speed (in Europe) can come in various forms. "Base" is a dampish putty, often erroneously thought of as freebase but more often than not amphetamine sulphate bulked up with glucose and moisture.. actual freebase is an oil and is unstable, it needs refrigerating really but it is very uncommon. You can get powdered amphetamine sulphate also, usually heavily cut. Pink speed is not unheard of, "pink champagne" was common years back and was generally regarded as very potent. These days it obviously isn't the same batch as the classic pink champage, haha and colour doesn't really have any bearing on strength - like anything, it varies, but most of the stuff we have on the streets here is pretty impure.
While it shouldn't lose any strength when it dries if it is amphetamine sulphate, which is almost definitely is, freebase needs to be kept cold. A lot of people store their speed in the fridge anyway and this certainly won't harm it, although anywhere dark and dry is probably just as good. An airtight container is always a good idea for storing drugs.
