Quesion about aged DMT

Recently I broke out my stash of DMT and took a hit, it had been sitting for a little more then half a year at this point. The hit had a MUCH stronger taste and harshness to it compared to the hit I had taken about 3 months prior, I did not notice a decrease in potency though; the dose was about the same I'd say, visuals and mental effects were on point with my last trip.

So my question is Do You Think The Harshness And Taste Is Due To The Time It Has Been Sitting, Or Because I Burned The Spice? I don't really remember burning it anymore then I had on other occasions, I'm always SUPER careful while lighting it, not letting the flame make contact.(maybe just a little)

One more possibility is that it could have been a different batch, although from the same ''chemist''. My thought is that it has just been sitting for a while. I keep my doses stored in plastic bags inside a pill case,which is also inside another pill case, then placed in a box where no light can get to it, and is always at room temp. So I think it is stored rather well, what are your thoughts?

Also I just took the DMT out earlier as I was looking through my box (It has been roughly 2 months since I've smoked any) and the smell from the bag seems much stronger then when I last took it out.
 
I've had a stash of dmt for about a year now, all from the same extractor, but different batches... I mixed them together lol. One was a 'fullspectrum' extraction. I don't know if this makes any difference. I have mine triple bagged, in UV resistant bags in my MFLB case in my drawer and it's just as potent (possibly more but this all subjective) as the day I received it.

Have you noticed a difference in smell or taste since you got it? I swear it smells a lot stronger then when I first got it and the taste was really harsh last time I smoked some compared to when I last smoked it months earlier.
 
I think it smells a bit stronger. The scent now POURS through rooms when it's smoked... I brought a joint with some hash and DMT mixed in to a show, and soon as I lit it, it smelled of DMT throughout the entire club. It's also changed a bit in color to a more orange-ish/yellow rather than a more yellow-white like it was when I first got it.
 
The change from (for example) 95% to 94% purity will be unnoticeable by dose, but can definitely have a more noticeable color or odor. Impurities from oxidation are usually very good at being colored and smelly. The change in purity may have also given the mixture a higher boiling point which may have contributed to burning/charring in the pipe.
 
its still best whens like pure white fresh as fuck just dried

blast a .1 out of the base pipe set it down as you exhale and break through

i have a hard time ever breaking through with any dmt that has been stored for any amount of time past 2 days even if properly stored(filled jars and vacuum sealed)

thats really i see in the potency different between the 2

that and a bag of fresh dmt gives off a stronger energy if anyone else knows what im talking about

same feeling i get from touching doc or holding a bottle of crystal lsd(feels way different than those 2 tho)

you like feel the energy coming from the crystals and when i pick it up i feel the energy make its way into me

ive only found strong psychedelics have this effects on me and other people (ive tested this on many other ppl to make sure im not nuts aha)
 
fresh decent clean DMT has more sharp precise electric feeling to it, fucking rockets me,

but it seems when left, gets more smelly and the trip is a little more muddy. hard to explain
 
Well if it's from a different batch that would explain it. Could try cleaning it up with a recrystallization, really easy to do.

i really dont think theres a way around it unless maybe recrystallization could bring that back with a lower yield than you put in?
 
I've noticed mine will get a very slight, off-white to yellowish tint to it if i leave it out for too long, and the smell seems to get weaker as well.
 
ime, dmt that has been stored too long/hot (melting is especially bad, beware of keeping it in the car in the summer), turns yellow has a stronger scent and is a lot harsher to smoke. i've had dmt go from pure white to orange in two years.

ya the yellow shit tastes so much worse and ive never been able to break through on anything yellow

normally some firework like visuals and a crazy still but nothing like smoking it fresh has ever done for me

personally i prefer to blue lotus petals in the liquid solution while its still drying and once those dry i roll them in a dutch with some nice headie weed and its puff puff passout for everyone we've had a circle of 6 ppl all breakthrough off 2 rips on the blunt
