I think you can't ignore the physical effects of Alcohol's metabolism that create a different experience. This experience is easily more complicated by factors like stomach the quality and quantity of stomach contents.
Each situation is different to some degree. Also, you have different drinks, different strengths and a litany of both real and not real perceived effects of drinking different varieties of beverage i.e. Tequila vs. Vodka and so forth.
This all contributes to an atmosphere of chaos when more than a certain amount of Alcohol is consumed. The advent of bodycam videos on youtube is an accurate representation of everyone being reduced to infancy when they get past a certain point.
Said videos have really made me think a lot more about drunk driving in general. It is a strange set of laws and expectations. This is not a "drug law" per se. I'm pretty sure every BL'er reading this right now would be morally/ethically against driving while impaired, even if, like me, you've done it multiple times and been convicted of it once. You're commandeering a 1-2 ton steel missile when you're not even able to walk to it properly.
Maybe I'm just turning into a big fat square and should be sent out of the forums backward and blindfolded on a donkey, but I think the laws need to be more severe. I don't want more punishment. I feel like people need to have it in their heads clearly that they can enjoy 1 drink before getting behind the wheel or something like that. Make the limit 0.2 as i commonly is for minors. I feel like society makes a big joke out of DUI, like "do you have a criminal record?" at a job interview and you say "no, just a DUI" and you both shake hands and reminisce, yet, when a person runs into a minivan full of children, they are absolutely crucified by public and private opinion. It's no surprise that a lot of the people who will hurl harsh judgement at these people also drive drunk.
Anyway, back to the topic at hand:
We went from an Oxycontin epidemic, there were fatalities. We then headed into the Heroin epidemic, there were even more deaths. The Fentanyl crisis came, we now have a level of death that literally could not have been predicted in anyone's dreams. We also now have substances in the drugs that actively cause people's bodies to rot .
There are solutions to these problems. Scientists and doctors with more balls than most decided to try radical solutions to their Opiate problems. We have had doctors/scientists throughout history who have chosen to do the right thing, what they believe is best, risking everything up to their lives to help those in society who most wish would just disappear.
The British prescribed Heroin in a relatively successful manner until after WW2 when the US forced their moralistic drug policy upon them. Switzerland ended an epidemic that they essentially ended through a similarly radical approach. Portugal has dived headfirst into a comprehensive Harm Reduction policy that has helped curb rates of HIV and helped many pursue lives of substance (no pun intended guys).
Any politician who knows what he is talking about, but gets up on their podium to cry with the Mothers and ask God to give them the answers are full of shit. Others had the answers a long time ago. They had answers that were based on their beliefs, their research and their science. They risked everything for these addicts and it paid off.
Any politician in the United States who says they care but are unwilling to change their ways get zero sympathy from me. Their systems are based upon morals. Their system is unquantifiable. Their system is archaic. It is everything wrong with humanity; people being too afraid to put their own well-being on the line for others.
If they cared, they would implement the changes.
Everyone reading this both in the United States and beyond (The DEA's reach is global) needs to be aware of the situation that could very likely occur in the near future.
We have been living under a liberal government for 4 years. Trump was just a speedbump in what has been an essentially liberal approach to politics.. We have now elected Donald Trump to his second total term in office. We all know what kind of man he is. He likes power. He was born into wealth. There is no eventuality in this universe in which Donald Trump could've ben on the street as a Fentanyl addict treating open wounds on his legs. His life has taught him that this could never happen to him because he is better, smarter, faster and more cunning than most.

I predict he is going to unleash some serious bullshit on the less-fortunate members of our society. If there, are any of you struggling with life right now, maybe you're addicted, homeless or even just mentally ill. Maybe you've been procrastinating on the day when you'll finally throw it all in the pot and attempt recovery. It's easy for us to keep pushing that day back. I'm telling you, if you have any desire to try to get clean, get better or maybe you just wanna stop smoking crack; if you want to try to improve your life, do so while you can.
I know life has seemed miserable and difficult for a lot of us. It really kills me to say this, but things can be so, so much worse for addicts in this world. Post replyIn the developing world, for instance Afghanistan, the Taliban will bring an old school bus down to the river, round up all the junkies they can catch and throw them in cells to think about things for a few months. If you think this can't happen in America, you're wrong.
