While I am greatly appreciative of the service provided by the individuals responsible for Pillreports for FREE and the efforts of the mods (TRS and RavenousMod in my region) out of the kindness of their hearts, I must say the report quality IMO has dropped as well as the quantity of reports since V1.

Are there any ideas being tossed around that might facilitate upping said
reports quality?

If not I ask members to put forth any ideas they may have.

Looking at europe and particularly Austrailia's reports we Yanks look pretty uneducated in comparison.

My idea would be to not allow a report without a pic included, if this is even possible.

Harm reduction is key and I think pics are integral to this goal.
(yes I have posted reports with no pic but would've made the effort if REQUIRED)

Also I just saw a post from Johnboy about no one from PR ever donating.

I would happily donate or pay for service but due to personal reasons could only do so if it were possible without using PayPal or other such services.

Btw please let me know if there is another way to help the cause in the name of harm reduction Johnboy.

This issue gave me another quality idea: Have a premium service with
a one time or monthly fee with full functionality and limited services for those who choose not to contribute.

Hiya woodpecker,

From what I have seen, the quality and the quantity of reports have dropped as well. I think this is due to more than a few reasons.

There was a pretty big sweepup about a month ago. Lots of people are staying out of the limelight. Also, it's winter. The scene tends to cool down in the cooler months. (at least in my area) And yeah, a lot of the reports are crap. There are a lot of younger people out there posting on pills that they honestly don't know anything about. I doubt some of these kids have ever had a "real" dose of pure MDMA. I think if they had more of an education (like the ones that think heroin & coke are in their pills - that's a gov't perpetuated myth) on what is supposed to and NOT supposed to be in their pills, the quality of the reports might go up a bit. I can't blame them - I honestly think they are just ignorant to the facts, and have had all the "DARE" crap piled into their heads by the so called education system.

And yes, another way to donate to PR would be wonderful. I can totally understand some people's heistance to donate via PP. (Due to it being in their real name, fear of electronic tracing, you name it.)

Johnboy, is there a way that someone like me or woodpecker could donate say, via International Money Order? I have not donated for the same reason - I keep my personal stuff very personal, kwim? :) I'm sure you can understand our reluctance with the new gov't laws in the US. If you had an addy (PO box or whatever they call em down there) people could send money orders to, I bet you might see some $$ come your way. ;)

(probably not gonna be rich, but hey, every little $ helps!) Just my .02! ;)

Come on, I thought we were a little community here on BL and on PR.

Ravenous....The sweepup u spoke of must have been VERY thorough lol

Hehe, we do seem to have our own little communities, don't we? :)

Personally, I am glad the sweepup was thorough! It seems to have cleared up some of the meth laden problems we've been having lately in the southeast. ;)

You should make a must read that people can...well, read, to know what facts are facts and myths are myths, like telling them not to post that there was dope in their pills because there is pretty much NEVER heroin in pills. You know, just clear the air for them on some things (even though, they should be educated about that before they decide to even take pills, but we all know that will never happen.) Have it so that they have to read before posting. Just my $.02

Hiya IForgett!

We are actually working on a FAQ section for Pill Reports - you can see it here in the PR section of BL. Feel free to add to it - all suggestions are welcome! Why don't you cross post this there, so the admins can be sure to see it? ;)

You will notice a vast improvement in the quality of reports once we roll out the next phases of pillreports.com. There is still about 50% of functions to be coded, and some changes made to existing functions based on feedback, but many of these users wont see and are for mods/admins to better manage the site. At the moment the site is as difficult to mod as PR1 because we are still to roll out the new mod tools.

We are all volunteers, we all work for free, and we all have real jobs and real lives. That being said we dontate our time and do the best we can, however that has taken a little longer than we would have liked. Over the next few months changes will be made and the site will be better for it. We have a lot of exciting things planned but just need time to roll them out. Stay tuned.

Thanks Cowboy Mac. Beleive me when I tell you that your efforts are GREATLY
appreciated here. My intent was not to bitch about PR.

My secondary question still begs to be answered about donating to PR, this way those who care could show their appreciation.

Thank You

I agree that alot of the reports people make on pillreports people don't put effort into them. I know alot of people don't have testing kits and alot of people don't have access to cameras to take pictures of their pills but if they don't they should put forth extra effort to make the description of everything as vivid as possible.

I hate when I look at a report and the user description is "OMG WTF I ROLLERED FOR HOURS!!!" No picture, no details. That's not gonna help anyone at all.

I also agree when you look at Austrailia's and Europe's reports they look very much more educated. Almost scientific. I hardly see any halfass reports from those sections. They have the test reagents and decent photos of the pills. Usually a very detailed report about what they felt and times on the comeup and comedown and the aftermath of the roll.

I have to agree with you that people shouldn't be allowed to post reports without a picture. But I also think that people shouldn't be allowed to make reports without testing reagents as well. You can go on for days trying to figure out and speculate what was possibly in your pill. It's not gonna help anyone if you're guessing the only way to have a decent idea as to what you took...test.

Though those two things (having a picture and reagents) would rule me out of actually making reports, it's better that way. The site is for harm reduction after all. It's not reducing harm when people can't even show what they took or what was in it. It's more of the lines of "I think...I took mdma...or it could of been mda...I'm not sure...MDE? or it could of been DXM yeah I think it was DXM!!" Yeah...sorry I don't know what you took. get a pill tester.

Sorry for the long rant >_< now I toss my $.02 in the hat ;)

Re: donations. I have been giving some thought to this. The postal address idea for money orders is a good one. We will probably be doing a donation drive after we roll out the next phase of pillreports but until then if anyone wants to donate that can do so to:

Enlighten
PO Box 410
Flinders Lane Post Office
Melbourne VIC
Australia 3056

Australian dollars by preference, but we'll take anything :)

Thanks JB, "the check is in the mail"

Others please follow suit as I think the service PR provides in the name of
harm reduction is very important particularly in the US where harm reduction means locking you up

Wow, I wish I would have seen this thread before I went on my rant on Monday! RB, I think these ideas are great ones.

Here is the problem though if you make only post with pics and test postable, LESS POSTS! Stupid "kids" are not going to quit taking pills just because they did not see them on PR. So as such, you have an even worse role of harm reduction being played... Atleast this way, "Kids" can post "Dude, that pill made my hair fall out and my nutz shrink up!" and maybe it will keep someone else from taking it even if no one will ever know what was in it...

Hehe, sorry Xyzpdq, I just got promoted to the PR Discussion boards here - I think I'll merge that post with the other ones for suggestions on PR. :)

It's so hard to try and regulate the posts, like you said, and yeah, I do wish we could make everyone test and post a (clear!) picture of their tab. But we have to remember that not all of us are fortunate enough to be in a position to get a testing kit (some posters living situations restrict that - college, no credit card, ect.), and some people out there still don't own a digital camera. (I know a few!)

Sometimes I wish there was a way to make users take a "quiz" of sorts before they are able to post a report...lol

Hope everyone here is having a great weekend, also! :)

Thank you so much woodpecker! The guys at pr.com are VERY hard at work behind the scenes getting ready for PR Version 2 to roll out....there are exciting things coming, folks!

If you guys want to know more about what our brethren do down in Aussie to support Harm Reduction, ya'll should check out: www.enlighten.org.au And go to the media links.

Actually, Harm Reduction is getting to the point of where it is here down in Australia too, woodpecker. :( I encourage everyone to go check out what the people behind PR.com do for the community. They are a busy bunch of folks! :)

I think the bad reports just come from kids that are un-intelligent. Not even necessarily ignorant about MDMA, just seriously dumb kids. Its not hard to write a report, even if you don't know too much about ecstasy, and make it legit. They just don't grasp the concepts that should be in a pillreport and they aren't reading the directions and instructions.

Just know what to take with a grain of salt and what to listen to. There's usually one or two good posters in every vincinity that will steer you with correct information. PR really has a lot of good info on it if you know how to use it and what to filter.

I totally agree with you ecstasteve. My contention is that it makes responsible users of the site seem less so. Personally if PR were my site I would only allow
posts of adulterated pills so it would be more evident that the site was solely for the purpose of harm reduction not a place for the "kids" to go and find out
whats the "shit"
