Well Ive done different kinds of magic mushrooms like 10 times in total over 5 years and ive always got some anxiety at some point in the trip (not saying I always puke lol I probably eat too much food before cuz I smoke lots of pot I get munchies) especially in the come up... now whats up about the thinking part.... I think a lot about it but what if id live in the present moment while doing it would I still get anxious? I mean really, not thinking at all while taking it can be done or you cant ?

Is thinking something you can just turn on/off, especially while tripping? If you mean mindfulness meditation or something like that, then go for it.

Here's a recent thread, from someone who has also had some anxiety problems: advice for comeup anxiety

Also breathing exercises, and distracting yourself with some form of media can be useful in dealing with anxiety. However, anxiety is an intrinsic part of the trip for many, and they gotta confront/ride with/ameliorate it every time.

I have no idea how someone could turn their brain off, especially while coming up on a psychedelic. Frankly, it sounds like a rather difficult thing to learn, so I would suggest working on having a better mindset going into it (do relaxation type stuff) and having a friendlier, safer environment to do them in.

Being out in a relatively secluded forest away from the public is a typical setting for mushroom tripping, but for higher doses and more powerful psychedelics I find a room with peaceful music, blankets and pillows to be the only setting I find appropriate. Maybe try that?

Many have mentioned in another thread that keeping your mind occupied with some kind of mission on the way up can be a great way to distract yourself from the anxiety. Try walking, biking or a low-level activity like pitch-and-put.

A single alcoholic drink can help me quite a bit as well.

I do think that distracting yourself from extraneous thought processes while on the come up period of a psychedelic is extremely helpful in reducing come up anxiety. It's not easy, but the best way to do this is to distract yourself with some sort of activity (usually group settings can help facilitate this, although if you're not extremely comfortable with the group it might make it worse). For me, going on some kind of walk, watching a tv show/movie, etc with a group of friends helps distract me from the need to overanalyze my own anxiety and any uncomfortable bodyload.

You have to just let go and trust the mushroom to take care of you.

definitely try meditation, better to practice once or twice a day for a couple months before hand, if you can wait that long :-)
I've always found ingesting in small groups or sometimes alone to most useful.
At higher doses of any psychedelic there will probably be anxiety to work through, do you get any anxiety outside of mushroom land?
I have had a few anxiety issues but the mushroom has always been kind and helped me work through them.
