PVC pipes and showering

well the neanderthals in my house(I will never consider calling them family) have installed some gas heating and hot water system.

Needless to say they are pretentious still buying the cheapest possible option out there even that is not healthy at all but they are just sacks of potatoes who don't bother.

now some (I hope at least not all) of the pipes are PVC. I won't be drinking water from there but I'll be using hot water for showering.

from the research I did this evening it seems like PVC pipes are being out phased here in EU still they're in my house and will be leaching them harmful phthalates like DEHP and so on.

are they safe for just showering,shaving while showering every morning as it exfoliates the skin and so on and forth.

most of the info on the net talks about shower curtains being harmful.

So let me get this straight.. You've run into this predicament and you realized you wanted some information on it. So you went onto the internet and signed up to the bluelight drug forum to find answers?

Can you link any source?
I've read that we're banning some phalates (if industry won't succeed in its lobbying attempt) startint in three years, but nothing about pipes.
