purity of molly

I know a guy who's selling 'molly' and I know of some acquaintances who buy from him and seem to roll quite a bit. I don't think they know about the dangers of this stuff so I worry for them. I have never done hard drugs before and I'm interested in trying mdma so I thought I'd get some of this guys stuff and try to test it, for my sake and for everyone else whose been buying from him.

I know you can do reagent tests etc to determine what your pill or cap contains. But are there any scientific tests you can do to determine how much of the active ingredient there is? like if I want to ingest 110 mg of mdma, how do I know how much 'molly' to take? seems like its always cut with something, from what i've read.

Even if I send it to ecstasydata.org with $120 they refuse to tell u how much of it is mdma or whatever else and how much is just salt or binder or caffeine. Or do they? if thier test result lists mdma with a ratio of one, does that mean that it has some mdma in it and no other psychoactive chemicals, or does that mean that it is 100% mdma?

Could you do a Thin Layer Chromatography of a molly sample?

Could you, for example, dissolve the molly in water and then put 4-6 drops on your TLC plate, then for each separate track paint on a different reagent?
Are there reagents that would detect common things that molly may be cut with?

Try to tell them about the dangers before they consume the drugs.

It generally is always cut with something unless you get MDMA crystals.
Pills always have binders. But they're almost always inactive ingredients.

There's no test you personally can do that tells you the exact purity of what you're taking.
What you can do is do a full reagent screening test and you can figure out what is NOT in your pill or powder.

I only read that really quick but to me it looks like that's just a reagent test (same as the testing kit you can buy from EZ test or Dancesafe) but you add in an extra step, which would be dissolving the MDMA in the water. It's unnecessary.
