Pure MDMA and natural antidepressants

Maybe this is an extremely obvious answer that has already been covered on here. I am a newb. Hello :)
I've done online research for a while and haven't found anything, so I'm assuming MDMA with a natural antidepressant in my system is a safe combination.

Basically, I have depression and medications (I've tried anxiety depression and bipolar meds) have never really helped me, and I struggle with falling asleep and feeling pleasure in everything, so I was told that probably all depression meds would make things worse for me.

So I bought SAM-e (I hear 5-HTP is similar) which is a natural antidepressant that supposedly lifts your mood. I tried asking my old psychiatrist if it's safe to in any way mix MDMA with SAM-e but she could only answer about things she prescribes herself.

I mean I don't know if SAM-e actually works. And if I had the money I'd use MDMA like once every two months at the most.

What do you guys think?

It's a compound found in the body's cells. I would think it's fine. Better safe than sorry I suppose.

There may be potential interactions cause SAM-e is supposed to help with neurotransmitters right? It is contraindicated for people on SSRIs to take SAM-e so I would imagine mixing MDMA with it isn't exactly the safest thing to do either.

Also, MDMA may just exacerbate the pre existing depression. Its not safe for people with mental health issues to take any kind of drugs like MDMA, LSD, coke, etc. Alc and benzos in moderation are usually fine since they are downers.

Haven't found much about SSRI's being a potential danger, as far as I can tell they're even prescribed together sometimes. However there seems to be some risk for serotonin syndrome when combining SAM-e with other serotonergic drugs (DXM, tramadol, demerol, ...) so you shouldn't combine it with MDMA, that might cause too high levels of serotonin, not something you want to experience. I would thread carefully with this combination, my advice is to not try it, there seem to be real risks

In all honesty, I'd imagine this is overly cautious listing of potential side effects as is often the case with websites listing the side-effects. I did some quick researching online and really couldn't find anything regarding the mechanism of SAM-e other than 'researchers speculate that it might increase serotonin in the brain (just as some antidepressants do)'. While I agree that there's no point in risking to take it with MDMA when we really don't know much about it, I'd imagine the chance of SS is still slim at best. Simply increasing stores won't cut it. Now if it somehow blocked serotonin from being broken down then perhaps but I can't find much.

@OP While I realize you probably don't want to hear this, I'm not convinced SAM-e is going to help you. Most of the research that has been conducted has either directly injected into the brain of rats (not relevant to oral human usage) or is poorly conducted (therefore perhaps not depicting the truth). One better designed study was unable to find effects which leads me to think it is just a money-grabbing supplement. This website is where I got the information.

It's all good haha, I don't expect it to help either. (If it did I would be a little angry because no one told me about it until a few weeks ago.)
I've safely rolled a few times before and I haven't had any problems during or after use, so I have that going for me.

I haven't read the whole thread here but I thought i'd give you a hi-5 for thinking that MDMA maybe a cure for depression, but I can assure you it's just a sticking plaster (with a difference). This particular sticking plaster is very close to my heart in so much it's been there on a number of occasions when I needed to be in a 'good mood', however after a few years of use now I'm getting to the point that I reached when I was abusing alcohol, i.e. there isn't an answer or a quick fix to depression. What I'm trying to do is focus on what is really important and create a 'control & command office' for your ego. (this assumes you want to keep hold of your ego!)...not to say I want to keep my own but I have 2 children that are dependent on me for now, so I'm a bit torn on what to do for the best. Sorry I've dragged this out. I've not posted on this forum before :-)
