Israel has always been in Asia. Egypt extends to Asia as well through the Sinai Penninsula.. which Israel won in the 6-day war but agreed to give back to Egypt in exchange for peace that has surprisingly lasted to this day, with very few exceptions.
So, even Egypt used to extend to Asia, then didn't cuz Israel took over their Asian land, then Israel gave it back.. so now Egypt once again extends a small part of its land into Asia.
btw.. just cuz I'm a geography buff... here's some more interesting factoids: The EU doesn't want to admit Turkey cuz they're a bunch of dirty Muslims (just kidding, but that seriously is part of the reason). Part of Turkey is in Europe, while most of it is actually in Asia... this situation is similar to Russia. I doubt the EU will ever let Russia or Turkey in.. however, they have let Cyprus in. Cyprus is a 100% Asian country geographically while the culture is 100% European. Same with Armenia and possibly a few others... Israel is another Asian country that I personally consider to have (mostly) European culture.
