is pupil dilation bad for my eyes? logically i would think it is because my eyes are more exposed to light and that would damage it in some way..

I've often wondered this, hopefully someone will come along and answer. I suppose your eyes are only exposed to more light for a relitively short time so I doubt it does much damage, if you were somewhere with really bright lights it might be bad, most of the time my pupils are dilated at night because that's when I trip or "roll"! So the bright lights are not an issue

Im no expert on this, but Ive dropped the catalog of of psychedelics, and Im guessing unless your eyes were dilated for weeks at a time then damage would maybe set in. But I picture a seen from a Clockwork Orange, where your eyes were set unable yo blink, and the eyes eventually drying out and game over.

And I don't know if your parents ever told you about the 3 college kids during the 70's that dropped acid and stared at the sun for so long they went blind, fact is that LSD doesn't interfere with the cerebrum, so you would never stare at something into total blindness or harm of anyway

Some people are born without an iris, yes. (aniridia) They usually have other things to worry about though because the genetics behind having no iris is a mess.

Having dialated pupils should be fine as long as they aren't dialated for weeks on end. It's the cumulative damage from UV and bright light that you should be worried about getting exacerbated by having notohing to limit light into your eye.

Even with your eyes dilated from drug use, pupil size does change slightly and it you generally don't have full-on blown pupils. As long as you're not looking into direct light, you should be fine. You'll have some pretty serious eye pain before any irreversible damage takes place. So if you're not feeling the pain, you're not permanently damaging it

I agree with the poster above. Having dilated pupils isn't really a problem as long as there is not much pain and your vision hasn't changed much.

I have bright bluish grey eyes and when i'm inside, be it high or sober, my eyes dilate so much they look pitch black. Then I go outside and my pupils shrink to the size of a pin point and the color of my iris's come out.

but this is what is most important to me about ur case, if it is just ur pupils ur most likely fine, however the pupils reflect what is going on in the brain. Have a friend get a small pen light and test out ur pupil response. U can even try this in a bathroom. Turn off the lights, ur pupils will explode, and while peering in the mirror turn them back on quickly and ur eyes/pupils should adjust drastically then settle in back to normal. If this is not occurring u r having an underlying neurological issue. Not that it is serious and u will go blind, but u should go to an eye doc tell them about all drug use (docs are pro drugs haha and they cant report u for illegal ones if no crime is involved at that moment) and see if ur optic nerve and back of ur eye are in good shape. But thats only if u have delayed or no pupil response to a pen light etc.
