I've found through the whole of my life dogs have been better to me than humans have. I've had a Doberman Pincher rescue me from a fire & she also attacked some scummy "rude boi" dealer that came to rob me & he locked himself in a car screaming as she jumped up at the window barking her head off trying to bite him (I love you Sadie) When I got kicked out the shared house that dog sat outside my bedroom door for 3 days howling & refused to eat or drink, she was in a form of dog mourning.

The list goes on & on, even down to me being crushing PAWS depressed & a random doggo will come over & boop me with its nose then smile at me. I'd not give you a rusty nail for 99% of humanity yet I'd go to some extreme length to save a dog.

I'm no big fan of cats as a general rule (I've had bad experiences with their smell. Being dope sick from heroin & walking into your mates flat where his cat has done some poo / wee (animal Jenkem) is a horrific experience to the nose & lungs, sometimes I've even tasted it on the back of my throat. But this local cat I''ve been getting to know now for a few months, the first time it came to me was to check out my Iceland Pizza but since then I always say hello to it & it seems to remember me.

I had some Tuna for it a few days ago but it must have gone on a cat adventure as I didn't see it in the usual place for a few days & ended up eating the stuff myself one day when I was starving.

Add heroin onto the list too, I'm starting to get good at drinking these days. I came to booze really late as my diet in dope for decades was just around RC's & street drugs, I saw drinking as kinda equal to glue sniffing but the last 12/14 months I am getting kinda good at it. I can get down 2/3 litres of K cider (8 % ) now in a night & though I'll be fucked up I'm not passed out & waking up to pissed jeans or puke etc.

Alcohol actually makes life not that bad to live in a way, it makes the foul blows of fate & the way humanity is just about liveable.

Welcome to my world mate. I didn't start drinking properly until I was in my 40s, I always preferred drugs. But when i came off smack during the great drought of 2010, it kicked in big time. I'm actually embarrassed at how much I can put away these days...
 
You came off back then when everything tasted of TCP & you cooked up it left sand looking stuff in the bottom, fair play for keeping off it.
There is some very nice stuff around now though FUBAR :devilish:

How much of the "Pete556 vice" you get through in a week?
