Psylocibyn, LSD and serotonin dip?

I am taking prescribed tianeptine and although I have done it previously, I decided not to take any substances which mess up neurochemical system while taking antidepressants. Maybe I would still benefit from "elevated baseline" but I still prefer not to take MDMA, amp.. actually -all "common consumer drugs".

I know that this is simplified talk, but I will use "amateur" terms : Since psylocibin and LSD are affecting serotonin receptors, do they also cause a "serotonin dip" afterwards?

I think NOT but it would be nice to hear your opinions... Cheers

I dunno. If so, Id say it would not be at all as severe as mdma. I only have experiences of my own and no actual proof to offer you. Sry.

MDMA is a serotonin releaser, which means that it causes the efflux of serotonin that is stored up in your nerve cells.

LSD and psilocybin are serotonin agonists, which means that they both are "keys" that fit into the serotonin "lock" just like serotonin does.

Therefore LSD and psilocybin should not cause lasting changes in neurotransmitter levels.

Indeed. But, that doesn't mean a very strong trip can't wear you out. That doesn't seem like a 'depletion' problem though but just general high activity creating need for more rest afterwards. There is no reason to assume this is harmful, but still: do not underestimate that.

MDMA does not only release serotonin (and other monoamines), it also hijacks the serotonin transporter that normally brings the serotonin back 'home' into the nerve terminal where it came from. Instead of returning serotonin home (reuptake), MDMA causes the transporter to also pump out extra serotonin. So in a way it's a two-fold releaser so to speak.
Not all serotonin releasers are like that, a lot of them are just 'one-fold'. Those compounds are less likely to cause a noticeable dip but on the other hand users tend to say that MDMA is one of the empathogens with the most 'magic'.
