So idk if it's just me, but bein even the slightest bit cold while trippn/rolln can rlly be annoying. Having experience with only mushrooms and lsd when it comes to psychedelics, any time it was cold on either of the substances I instantly wanted to be somewhere warm and cozy. Being cold made me very uncomfortable(almost making it a bad trip). Same with E, not as much uncomfortable cuz with rollin it wasnt as bad, but it seemd to kill my roll just a bit. Maybe its because I naturally do not like the feeling of being cold?; even while sober.
Any1 else expereince this? :?

Totally agree. Maybe it's the vasoconstriction. I gotta be warm or my body gets really uncomfortable. It makes me feel like I'm gonna die if it's too cold, which can obviously result in an awful trip.

Thats a good thought, although I thought vasoconstriction causes the body to retain heat? I could be wrong tho lol. And I guess substances such as nitrous, dxm and salvia are considered to be psychedelic too? Either way i can't remember being uncomfortable from cold temp. on any of those, how bout you?

On my second shroom experience and on one experience with methylone I had a slight cold.
Kind of felt like a flush to me. Because of all the sweating (i sweat alot on shrooms) I felt cleansed afterwards, really brought my body back to a neutral level

I guess you are right about that actually. My extremities get coldest so I just assumed that it was causing less blood flow, thus making them cooler, but I'm not really clear on how vasoconstriction works I guess. I haven't gotten cold from nitrous or dxm, but then again I didn't take those in cold places (by cold I mean in my apartment that's about 65 degrees during the winter, maybe not cold to some people). Can't psychedelics affect body temperature regulation though? I'm not very clear on these subjects.

some psychedelics/empathogens, particularly those of the amphetamine variety, can cause some temperature disregulation, however what is more common that that is the perception of temperature disregulation. Its a bit difficult to distinguish between the two, especially while experiencing the acute effects of a psychedelic. Guess i'll have to take some body temperature measurements the next time i trip :D

IME, being cold while tripping is kind of a bummer, being excessively hot is also bad, but not nearly as frustrating as being cold. However, i'm from the south so more experienced in dealing with heat than cold, and it could well be the opposite for those from higher latitudes.

Another odd thing i've noticed, is if that i smoke cannabis or synthetic cannabinoids in a cold environment, i don't really feel the effects until i'm warm again. I've experienced a similar phenomenon with MDMA.... go figure.

I'm from the south originally. Only been living in the north for a few years. What you are used to probably does play a role in how the temperature might affect you during a trip.

I notice - on phenethylamine trips particularly - that my perception of temperature fluctuates between cold and warm. Usually I feel a cold flush first, and I'll be trying to wrap up in blankets or put a cardi on. Which doesn't make that much difference to how I feel. And then maybe half an hour later I'll swith over to feeling fine. And then slightly warm or hot.

It used to bother me a little at first (only a little worry), but I've got used to it now, as I know that my body will regulate itself and I don't have to worry. It feels more like a wider variation in homeostatic flux, rather than vasoconstriction in the extremities. And it may be that we can simply feel the normal temperature changes more acutely while we are tripping, than when we are sober.

I enjoy the somatosensory changes.

LOL I was at a festival once and it was really hot all day and I was walking around without a shirt on... took a bunch of 'cid... got lost (:D) for a bit... decided to catch a show, it was fun, but then it got dark and cold. Totally bummed me out and killed my buzz, man-- it really does suck to be shivering and cold while you're tripping. I ended up buying a $50 hoodie so I wouldn't have to leave the concert area and go back to my tent to get a sweatshirt. :D

I find that while I'm tripping I don't notice the cold, or if I do, I don't care. When I start coming down is when it becomes an issue.

As long as I am wearing a coat/jacket/hoodie, I can trick myself into feeling warm, something I taught myself while working in cold storage -25farenheit8o.

However, last night I took some L, and chilled out by myself. It was 86degrees, and very humid in my house. The heat was ruining my trip. I sat on my bed, in the dark, shirtless, with a fan less than 5 inches away from me. This was barely helping. I took a cool shower, and felt awesome, until I toweled off, and went back into the heat. Now, I have tripped plenty of times in the summer, but there was always somewhere to go with air conditioning. So I have to say it's a door that swings both ways.

yea, I always turn the heat up while tripping or rolling...I get really sensitive to cold and it makes me really uncomfortable..

I always to be feel really warm outside while tripping on acid no matter what the weather, can feel really cosy even if its raining never effects my trip thankfully. Just a case of person to person

LSD when i am cold is usually ok, aslong as ive got warm clothes. But LSD when ive got a cold! thats another story.

I know what you mean absolutely having a cold or and thing at all irritating i need to be perfectly fine or wont feel proper comfortable threw out the trip, just sorta stops you from letting go to the trip

Well, I'm not fond of the cold anyway & do my travelling indoors in winter unless it's particularly sunny or snowy or there's some obvious reason to enjoy the outdoors. I especially hate a cold wind, gives me a wierd headache, sorta behind my ears, back of my jaw & this is TRULY irritating when I'm wasted :( I get into the warm & this ache eases immediately.

Methoxetamine is the only substance I've ever enjoyed outdoors on a cold, windy day. I just seemed so distinct from my body that I wasnt bothered by what I could clearly feel were very cold hands & face.

One time, back in the day we followed & Bedlam system halfway round North London & ended up on Hamptsead Heath at 7am in December freezing my nuts off & hardly feeling my New Yorker. Got in a car to head home couple hours later & as soon as I warmed up, I came up too!
