Psychedelics post Surgery?

I am having septoplasty and having a collapsed nasal passage fixed to correct breathing. My nose is going to be broken and require some serious healing. I will have a splint on my nose for 7 days during which I will be out of work.

First and foremost I want to heal correctly and swiftly, but I also just got my hands on some 2ce. I am recovering in a cabin in the woods and would love to do psychedelics, specifically this 2ce but only if there is very little risk involved. So the main question is, does 2ce cause vascoconstriction or any other negative healing side affect? my plan would be to take a small 10mg dose.

So questions:
1. Would you do 2ce 5 days after surgery?
2. Would you do any psychedelics after surgery, if so which ones?
3. What does 2ce due to the body (not mind)?

Why would you want to dose so soon after surgery? Can't you wait till your body heals and aren't still feeling the aches/pains that may be associated with the surgery. I couldn't imagine still feeling the pain form the healing process while tripping. Wouldn't be something I'd try.

2c-e, like most psychedelics causes some vasoconstriction, so if that is an issue, then I'd warn against dosing.

Just wait till you have healed up so you can fully appreciate the experience. Psychedelic experiences shouldn't be rushed into, or taken with out trying to provide the best set/setting as possible.

my advice would be to not do ANY tripping on ANYTHING at all until you are totally healed.

Taking psychedelic drugs can be taxing on your body to begin with, let alone when it's trying to heal after surgery.

Take it when you're mind and body are both 100% at ease, and I promise you that you will have a much more enriching experiencing, as oppose to trying to "force" a trip during you're time off of work.

It depends how you respond to psychedelics and how experienced you are. I enjoy the living fuck out of them and am very experienced so for me it would be a good mental and physical boost. As they always say "Euphoria is good for you".

Having said that I'm not a fan of 2c's so I can't comment on how those affect you.

1) No, thanks
2) No, thanks
3) Primarily: vasoconstriction, muscle tension, nausea and other GI discomfort, raising blood pressure, and probably other things.

Just wait 1-2 weeks more and take your 2C-E dose. If you have no experience with 2C-E, why put your nose at risk?

Wise responses. I love bluelight.

So in conclusion while I do have very positive experiences with psychs, I won't be taking my first 2ce trip, nor any other psych post-operation.

Thanks all!

Bad idea.
Not only could the drug synergize with the traces of the anesthesia drugs, but aren't you supposed to be on pain killers after surgery? You do want your first psych after surgery to be the most cleansing and pure experience, and not something diluted by downers, right?

Having said that, it might actually turn out to be something really special. You might even be able to feel the scar tissues slowly healing under the bandages. If you do go ahead with it, I would be really interested to hear about how the whole thing went down. Good luck!

Like others have said, 2c-e will cause vasoconstriction. This will lead to decreased blood flow to the surgical site. It will slow the healing process. I can also imagine so many weird scenarios where you could accidentally bump your nose while tripping due to altered proprioception. Just wait it out...

edit: just saw you decided against it, wise choice! :)

I would not take 2C-E especially, I took it one time when I had not rested well and had a ridiculous body load. Since then I decided to only take 2C-E when I feel physically fit.

One interesting thing about dissociatives seems to be that - according to the guy who "came up" with methoxetamine - they distort proprioception after which it is rebooted. Apparently this helped him with a phantom limb. I am also reminded of the series House M.D. in which ketamine resolves the protagonists muscle pain problem... although it was only temporary and hospital series should of course not be considered reliable sources of medical information, lol! But it might be based on fact is all I am saying.

A reason why not to do ketamine, assuming you would do it orally or by I.M. of course!! is that you might stuble and hurt your healing nose.

Anyway I do not recommend you take any drugs while recovering, this was mostly just daydreaming ^.

i wouldnt do it, really theres no knowing how it will go

and besides, recovery time is just that, recovery, meanning you are not 100% for that period of time. i remember thinking of tripping while home on sick leave from work, thinking i might get away with it. it was just a flu, but the headaches and nausea that i already had wouldve been worse had i taken something. psychedelics usually enhance whatever mood im in, so if i feel shitty the trip will be shitty as well.

ive learnt that even being very tired and with a normal headache can really hurt the chances for a nice trip. so i prefer delaying things until i feel comfortable and there are no questions.

dont snort anything. really. pruity alone is enough to deter you from that path, you never know how impurities might react on your fragile tissues.

physically i dont think the substance itself may harm you that much, a few hours of vasoconstriction will not hurt the healing process much (smoking might do more damage, and of course, if vasocnstriction is severe it will hurt). but i strongly suggest you give this another thought.
