Psychedelics (LSD) and daily coffee habit

I drink coffee every day in the morning (usually another cup in the afternoon as well), I can't wake up without it and later in the day I begin to develop physical symptoms of caffeine withdrawal (headache etc.).

I'm sure some of you drink coffee, too. How do you go about taking LSD (or other psychedelics) in the morning, which is advisable to do on an empty stomach, if shortly before that you need to take your dose of caffeine? Drinking coffee on an empty stomach is bound to make me feel very uncomfortable gastrointestinal-wise. Would taking some caffeine pills be free of those side effects? And does caffeine affect the trip in some way (I guess it shouldn't with my tolerance)?

I think I'm going to go along with the pills, but I'm curious about your experiences or ways of dealing with coffee habit when taking psychedelics.

I wouldn't take LSD on a totally empty stomach - you can eat a little bit, just don't stuff yourself with a full turkey dinner and 3 cheesecakes 10 minutes before you drop.

Coffee won't make any difference to the trip - just do whatever your normal routine is.

I drink 10 coffees a day, never even think about it, my dad used to make me coffee in the morning before school since i was about seven lol.
I never worry about fasting before LSD, only with mushrooms do i shoot for an empty stomach, I cant eat on acid though for the first 5 hours or so, food just doesn't make sense when I'm tripping.

Eating only fruit is a clean meal that will keep your body from feeling heavy.

I drink coffee everyday mostly except lately i've been detoxing. But I would recommend avoiding withdraw symptoms during a trip lol. Interesting though that LSD (1/4 hit or Less) can successfully remove a caffeine withdrawal migraine for me, ergoloid compounds have been used traditionally for this reason i've heard. Depends on the trigger of your headaches though, migraines are over vasodilation, so the vasoconstrictor properties of the ergoloids combat this well.

Morning glory and woodrose work for this amazingly well also(~5 MG, 1 strong woodrose) . And normally a half day without caffeine would annihilate me with withdraw, but those ergoloid are a miracle!

i am a regular caffeine drinker. i make sure to consume a little less caffeine than usual when i trip. keeps things clearer. too much caffeine can actually overpower the trip and just make me feel anxious and bored. =p

Depending on how much coffee you usually drink, it might be a good idea to cut down a bit if you're planning to trip. Stimulants and LSD just doesn't seem like a pleasant combination, although apparently MDMA is an exception.

maybe you can try with black/green tea or ginseng ? i used to drink teas non stop at my last work to keep me awake usualy on a empty stomach

I was planning on tripping on a Friday afternoon when my Mom and brother were out-of-town. It was about 150 micrograms of acid, fairly strong, and I thought a cup of coffee beforehand would make me more energetic for the trip, but instead it exacerbated some pre-trip anxiety being a stimulant. I didn't want to feel jittery and anxious when I dropped the blotter, so I ended up getting drunk half-an-hour before I took it to relax myself. Seeing as how caffeine makes me feel jittery and sometimes nervous, although energetic, I wouldn't risk a caffeine high before tripping otherwise you'll just have a nervous mind-set when it starts to take hold. With the alcohol intoxication, it definitely was calming and made me euphoric for the first hour when the effects were rapidly manifesting.

Personally I'm quite sensitive to the comedown effects of coffee, or maybe I just notice them more than most people. Four or five hours after ingesting caffeine, I get anxious, dissociated, frazzled and tired. It's all mild and manageable, but I don't think it would be pleasant to deal with while tripping. Just my two cents.

I'd say stick to your routine. Perhaps if worried about any caffeine related anxiety, which it doesn't seem you are... Supplement L Theanine. It's why green tea is relaxing, apparently.

Id do like one said, and drink just enough to keep from crashing.

But your Q is more for empty stomach or not. Id say just be light.
