Psychedelics lowering your tolerance to marijuana?

I seem to hear it from everyone I know who uses psychs, the next couple days after use if you smoke your average amount of bud you get really stoned with a trippy edge to it. This happens to me as well, and my group of friends and I have made it a point to smoke every morning after a trip to get these unique effects. It doesn't necessarily lower your tolerance permanently, but for about a week it seems to. We came to the conclusion that it must be because of the psychedelics lingering in your system or something like that, and while its lingering smoking marijuana brings it out. I never read anything about this happening and it is really strange, although now considered very normal to me. Can anyone else share their experiences of this kind? Any thoughts on what causes it?

Quite a conclusion... But likely not true. Most psychedelics don't actually remain in your body beyond the actual tripping time essentially. What i think is the reason for this is instead much more to do with your mind than your body.

Your mind is still fresh from the trip: The cannabis makes your mind more... Malleable and susceptible to "return." Putting trippy music and smoking weed a few days after a trip. Yeah, makes a lot of sense that it would be more trippy than usual. But not from a physical standpoint.

Also remember that Cannabis in itself is mild psychedelic of sorts.

In short, it's been too few a days for the trip to have escaped the clutches of your mind. Smoking weed reminds you of it. Simple as that. :)

Starting christmas day of 2012 I ate 3.5-7 grams 5 days a week, consuming between a quarter and half pound in total. While I did build up some tolerance I still felt the basic effects each time(bright colors, euphoria, ect). I'm sure i would have had a much better time keeping it to one trip a week but I was paranoid and just wanted to be rid of them. The only long term effect Ive noticed is the reversal of my tolerance to MJ. I was a daily smoker for 6 years before this happened and now a fraction of a hit of good quality bud gets me way too high and causes me to freak out.

Another persons quote from this thread (http://www.bluelight.ru/vb/threads/665321-Daily-experimentation-with-psilocybin)

My verdict: Inconclusive.

Fact is, psilocybin/psilocin doesn't actually stay in your body for long. So there is no physical evidence whatsoever that it permanently reverses your tolerance: It has done NOTHING to your body to warrant it. Psychological issues on the other hand... I won't discount those.

Cannabis is actually known to cause a lot of paranoia and other negative *mental* effects with long use. Especially daily. So, with fear of sounding blunt, i think he's just not the right person to use in a control study... :D

The effects you're talking about are probably the result of a change in mindset/brain chemistry the day after a trip, not of lingering psychedelic molecules.
