What effects have psychedelics had on your dreams? either the night after dosing or later nights.
For me, a lot of drugs seem to really affect my dreams. When I had my wisdom teeth removed I spent most of the day laying on the couch nodding off after each hydrocodone I took. I had dreams where I was still laying on the couch but new things were going on around me and I had difficulty knowing what exactly happened that day and what I had just dreamed about. These were kind of disturbing in a weird way.
With MDMA, I get incredibly vivid colorful dreams. These are usually very coherent and connected throughout the night but generally not realistic (when I wake up I know for a fact it was a dream). These dreams persist for about a week after one use and are great and don't affect my sleep at all.
With 4-Aco-DMT, I get incredibly real dreams. These also last for about a week after use but aren't all fun and colorful. I don't really know how to describe these other than that they seem so very real. When I wake up though I easily remember them as a dream only because there's usually people in them that I have never seen before. Because of how real these dreams seem though any strong emotions felt during them tend to stay with me throughout the next day and usually leave me feeling rather distraught. Also, after a week of these dreams, I always feel like several weeks have passed even though its only been a week. Usually if I have something on my mind or some responsibility in the morning I tend to dream only about that and usually its about any mistakes that could be made. These specific dreams result in a lack of sleep. Sometimes I really enjoy these dreams like the one where I tried acid for the first time (I have never had it in real life) and it was so beautiful and a completely new feeling from anything else I have experienced. But others are not so great like one where I did something I never want to do which had me feeling very off the entire next day. I wish I could describe them better but they tend to be quite different from one another but always very real to the point that it seems I would have no chance of becoming lucid in them even if I had trained myself to have lucid dreams.
I know psychedelic use can have a negative impact on the quality of your sleep. I'm wondering more specifically if dreams like these are a common occurrence from psychedelic use as I have only heard about the dreams MDMA tends to cause which seem to be similar to what I have experienced for others as well. Yet I have never read anything about psychedelics and dreaming. I did a brief search so if there is a thread on this already out there I apologize for making this thread and would love to be pointed in its direction. I find I actually like these dreams because no matter what they are always incredibly interesting, however; since they affect me for up to a week, I have cut way back in my psychedelic use which is definitely a good thing. At times these dreams seem to be an extension of the trip especially since I have actually been tripping in many of the dreams.
