Psychedelics as exopheromones?

I need to clarify a bit, Sekio: What I meant was that a mushroom species can evolve defense mechanisms in order to *not* be eaten, much like Folding_Space spoke of regarding psilocybin fungi and (certain) teas.

Quick addition: I believe that the active compound(s) in psilocybin mushrooms are in fact a defense mechanism, as most animals (including humans) would not find the experience of being intoxicated by such to be particularly pleasant; therefore most animal organisms avoid its consumption. Folks like us are the exception, not the rule.
