Psychedelics and heart palpitations?

Over the course of maybe one year, I've heavily abused a variety of RC psychs ranging from 2C-I, 2C-E, 2C-P, 2C-T-2 to a variety of tryptamines such as 4-AcO-DMT and 4-HO-MET, also some of the NBOMe's. Recently I've developed strange heart palpitations and flutterings, I'm wondering if any other experienced psych users experience unusual heart/chest sensations, particularly those who have indulged heavily in RC's.

Actually, now that you mention it, I have too! I never associated it with my RC use, but now, light bulbs are going off... I was getting these palpitations over the summer, when I was experimenting heavily with RC psychedelics, and now that I'm in school and don't really have time to trip, they have mysteriously vanished. Hmm...

So, we've got to determine what the culprit is, if these heart flutterings are indeed related to RC use.

At the time I was also experimenting with 4-AcO-DMT and NBOMes. In addition, I was using MXE at a decent frequency, and 4-HO-MiPT, and 4-AcO-DPT.

I've also done a decent amount of MDAI, 4-FA, 6-APB and such, so it's particularly hard to pinpoint the cause, although I've done these RC entactogens to a lesser extent. I'll be seeing a doctor soon and maybe get an EKG to see whats up and I'll post the results here.

I would suggest quitting all drug use for a couple months or so - if they go away, there's strong evidence to support that they are related to RC use. That certainly worked for me.

Hm, good point, although it's particularly hard to be in college and not consume any caffeine or other study drugs such as piracetam/choline/glutamic acid, although I doubt that they play a role in heart issues. I've started a regimen of Celery Seed and Curcumin extract for circulatory support, wonder if that will have any positive effect. I also take L-Arginine and Omega-3 everyday.

I've been taking 2CC, 2CB and 2CE in some stupid doses over the past fortnight, I am now refraining from them for a month and then no more than once a month at standard doses. As a result I have felt tightness in the chest even post trip (all though it has only been 24 hours so far) but I am fairly hopeful this will pass.

I was able to keep improving my walking exercises this morning (I have been trying to power walk for fitness a bit faster and further each day, also barefoot for fun) so I must have got lucky this time.

I am not planning to risk trying the NBOMe's and I am no expert but I have lurked on this forums a bit and other users report those can be harder on the heart for some people than the 2c types.

Listen to Telepopmusik' "Breathe" for relaxing ;-) it's just psychologically these days...

Caffeine is well known for causing heart palpitations, i usually get them regularly whenever i have a few energy drinks, so if you are consuming caffeine on a regular basis there is a good chance that is the source of the problem.

Caffeine might exacerbate your present condition but it certainly didn't cause it.

Those RC drugs have a strong affect on the brain which in turn controls the body. It is a misconception that with psychedelics there is no chance of long term physical damage to the body. The only psychedelic that doesn't feel too hard on my body is mushrooms.

A few really powerful LSD trips fucked my heart up for a while causing intense residual vasoconstriction. Even LSD is something I cannot do on any kind of regular basis at all, and pretty much the only reason for this is the cardiac stress it puts me through.

In any case, I think it would be wise to not use any psychedelics at all until your heart feels comfortable in your body again.

Please be careful you've probably worn your heart out a bit from psychedelically overstimulating it.
