Okay, so with trying LSD, pot and mushrooms, I'm looking into other mind-expanding hallucinogens I should try. 2c-b is off-the-list because from what I've heard they are psychedelic, but not as mind-expanding as LSD, according to Erowid and many of the experience reports I've read, so I'm guessing it doesn't have psychotherapeutic potential. DOx as well because I've heard they are unpleasant. In addition, I would like to have several more Level 3 - 4 psychedelic experiences until I try DMT, which sounds like the ultimate psychedelic. Any general recommendations would be appreciated. Thanks!

4ACODET and 4HOMIPT were truly spiritual for me, which I think is what you're looking for ?
2C-E is profound as well, for me.

I aggree, DMT is not an on-off drug like salvia, it is very gentle if you just take a little, and you can very much controle your dosage bye smoking.
And if you are looking for a new experience, the tryptamines or phenylethylamines psychedelics are very close to LSD or mushooms.
If you want to see somethig different, i'll bet on dissocialives like MXE ou Ketamine, gentle at low lvl to.
Salvia and 5meoDMT are very different to, but its the "high end" of the game, big game.

With psychedelics, it's easy to read a range of experiences and almost stereotype it into some category, before being pleasantly surprised and having to redefine it. DMT wasn't the ultimate experience for me (too alien / strange / geometric), but it is a smooth and interesting ride. I would rate the 2c-b headspace on equal terms with LSD in terms of sheer artistic beauty. It hits some nice receptors.

Although I agree with your assessment of 2C-B as less mind-expanding, I don't think that that means that it doesn't have therapeutic potential compared to something like DMT. In fact, I believe the opposite is true.

With something like DMT, the experience is so fast, so intense, and so otherworldly that, although you may "learn" something from it, what you learn is not going to applicable to the real world. In the smoked form, at least, I don't think DMT has any therapeutic potential. It's interesting that a drug like DMT exists at all, but as for what it's good for, I'm not exactly sure. Probably not therapy or personal growth :P

2C-B, on the other hand, induces a milder altered state, but that doesn't mean it's less useful. In fact, the things that you may observe about yourself from the perspective of the 2C-B altered state will probably have far more relevance to your everyday life than something you might learn on DMT. For example, on 2C-E, I was drawn into a memory of my father attempting to spank me with a belt in the manner of his father, to discipline me for something I had done wrong. Instead, he broke down crying, and hugged me. I realized then that my father had made a conscious decision to raise me with love, rather than the disciplinary upbringing that he had experienced. This is not something that I could have realized on DMT, since the concepts of "I" and "father" and "love" are completely and totally obliterated.

In summary, I would encourage you to avoid writing off 2C-B, or at least to avoid writing off the 2C series as a whole. You should certainly try DMT if it's something that interests you, but I've found that I generally learn more from, and get more out of, low-dose, thoughtful trips based somewhat in reality, rather than ego-crushing 35mg psilacetin mind-voyages, for example.

For reference, here are my 2C-B and DMT trip reports:

Very good experience reports Kapitan.

I cannot believe the potency of the mimosa bark. Also to get fully MAO inhibition from 3 grams of rue, the alkaloid content has to be around 7%. High potency stuff isn't it? :)

Sorry is off-topic..

Definitely not man. 2C-B is not as "deep" as LSD, mushrooms etc but there's still plenty to be learned from it in my opinion. It's great with acid too.

My first time with DMT I was so fucked on Acid (10 hits) and ketamine I wasn't sure I got the full experience. Did once while on 2C-B, probably the most intense thing I have experienced. Seriously blew my mind.

Next on my list is AMT, though not a full on psych I'm still hoping to learn something from it.

After that is probably something from the Nbome series, 25i maybe. Then the DOx class, specifically DOM.

I thought this was going to be a thread where people posted about which psychedelics they next want to try and why, instead it unfortunately just looks like another "What should I take thread?" - and we don't allow these threads, as psychedelics, even more-so than other drugs, are a very individual experience. The psychedelic your friend worships the very essence of might be the one that leaves you traumatised with a series of bad trips, or vice versa.

If you're looking to choose your next psychedelic, do your own research. We have a series of "The most ... psychedelic" threads which might help you choose, e.g. The most visual psychedelic, the most social psychedelic. You can find them by visiting the Psychedelic Index, then using Ctrl + F to find, and entering "the most", then open up the spoiler below and check through the list. :)

Once you've found a substance you're interested in, I recommend going back to the Index again and searching for the substance in question, then read through that thread and any relevant trip reports, and make your mind up on whether it sounds right for you.

Since we don't allow "What should I take?" threads though, I'm going to close this. But... If anyone *does* want to start up a genuine "Which psychedelics are next on your list to try and why?" thread, I don't think we'd be opposed to that. :)

Closed.
