Psychedelic Audio

In the iTunes store type in Psychedelic Salon and there's about 400 or 500 hours of stuff to keep you busy. I try to listen to everything by Shulgin. Episode 54 Nick Sand should not be missed.

I was into psychedelic talks and lectures for awhile... but then it started to get old. After you have enough experience of your own with psychedelics, it doesn't matter what anyone else says about them. You *know* what psychedelics are, to you.

Unless it's really awesome scientific stuff like Nichols' research. That's a different story.

Graham Hancock?

Listened to an interview with him around the time he had ""Supernatural" published in 2005 & I found it fascinating. He was suggesting that human conciousness was triggered by our ancestors enjoyment of psychedelic fungi & that evidence in ancient African cave paintings "prove" that DMT & other drugs were used by the ancients & their common visions were replicated in art not just in Africa but the world over. I'm sorry, I have no idea where I found the interview.

Not audio, but if you have the patience to read a whole book: Timothy Leary's 'Flashbacks' is absolutely fantastic.
I love him with a passion for what he did-- he's also the most intelligent of all the people listed above by about 100 miles; and he didn't fall for his own bullshit (for too long!) -- keep moving; keep evolving -- don't stagnate (not on here, not on the internet, not in your country, not in your life)!

Oh jeeze, I can't believe you said that Ham.. Leary was probably the worst thing to ever happen to psychedelia. "Turn On. Tune in. Drop out." Seriously?? Not to mention he was a CIA plant (lol, tinfoil but juss saying).
Really though, he's the reason we had thirty dark years until the recent resurgence of scientific interest.

I don't give a shit about turning psychedelics into headache pills!
Fuck the current scientific interest.

There's been plenty of good psychedelics about over the past 30 years -- so what if some doctor doesn't give it to you in a nice sanitized room and measure your blood pressure?!
I totally respect someone who had a very nice, comfortable life as a well respected professor at Harvard university-- then threw it all away because he found something more interesting to do with his life. Surely you get that?

Oh, I can respect how passionate and true he was to his cause. I just think he was completely misguided in how he went about it.
And I also care a lot about realizng the full potential of psychedelics. If they can do more than just help people discover alternative modes of being (like relieving cluster headaches, as you mentioned) then that's fantastic!
The reason we have had dark years isn't because of the absence of good psys either.. It's because, prior to Leary, psychedelic drug use was a personal liberty; however, because of the impact he had on society, we had decades of oppression and legislation aimed at taking away that right. And we are still under these restrictions.
Moreover, I don't know what your comment about a clinical setting has to do with anything.

People can relieve their own headaches-- why do you need psilocybin in pill-form from a know-nothing doctor (as though that's ever going to happen, anyway-- AMT was abused swiftly enough) -- the information's out there about the effects on people with various illnesses-- depression, anxiety...... whatever (and how to grow mushrooms)-- if people REALLY suffer they won't care about growing them for themselves; or extracting DMT; or whatever it takes.
I don't desire a huge social change -- people find surprising and unexpected cures in psychedelic drugs every day ------ why do you need some official government body to tell you that it's okay?
"Just do it." -- and don't tell your mama! [But tell your kids!]

That is so incredibly ignorant dude.. People are completely debilitated by cluster headaches. To the point they lose their jobs. Or miss out on their kids' birthdays. Or kill themselves so they don't have to suffer everytime they turn on a lightbulb or hear music. It's not like they're just regular. Do you honestly believe that hardcore Christian Texans would ever consider taking an illicit drug to relieve a little headache?? Do some researchman, because that's probably one of the dumbest things I've ever heard on BL.

P.S. You should go to med school for years so I can call you stupid, too... -.-

I don't believe any old bullshit pro-psychedelics propaganda that comes my way, thanks. If the medical evidence were there there would be more progress in this area -- it's not! You look into it before calling people ignorant. Why has everything got to be the "most ignorant EVER" -- what the fuck's that all about, man. I am far from ignorant, my friend, and the effectiveness of psychedelic drugs does not even compare to sumatriptan -- I suggest that you do some research rather than quoting "give me funding people, I like psych's too kind of bullshit from the like of the largely American idiots who can't see any worth in psychedelic drugs until the government gives the green light!
I'm not American and frankly if some religious nut in Texas chooses to suffer rather than take an illegal medication get on with it -- that's how I feel. Don't just regurgitate funding appeals as known facts - frankly you have no idea who you are talking to or my qualifications in any area -- so don't assume superior knowledge.
