Stimulants Psuedo vs ephedrine

Why would someone choose one over the other. Where I live they log how
Much ephedrine you buy. In watching breaking bad and it had me wondering.
 
In the USA all purchases of either kind are logged now (maybe not the primetine tabs that have 12.5mg of ephedrine + 200mg of guiafenishit and a much higher price tag)

Pseudoephedrine is the good sudafed/generic equiv. Don't ever buy the new "Sudafed PE" with phenylepherine; it's useless as a decongestant - it was only introduced under DEA pressure (since you can't make meth with phenylephrine). Studies have frequently questioned it's effectiveness, with many failing to find an advantage over placebo. Ask at the counter for the good stuff if you actually want a decongestant that works. It does not produce a high of any sort.

Ephedrine is a stimulant (mostly physical, but it produces a noticable increase in energy. Lousy high, but it's the best OTC, non RC stimulant I think), which is an excellent bronchiodialator. Very helpful for asthma sufferers, particularly in combination with guiafenisen.

The two differ only in the chirality of the beta carbon - amazing the difference that can make eh? Both are usable interchangibly for purposes of making meth.
 
Okay just wandering if a chef preferred one. Im not making it just purely curious. I've Seen set ups with lots of equipment but also see people make it simply and quickly

BUMP, I'm actually also interested in this too.
It's a question I've always wondered about.
 
Ive never noticed a difference in methamphetamine made from Pseudoephedrine or ephedrine. For the producer its more about the availability of said precur. Ive gotten to test them side by side, just my two cents.

Yeah, I don't cook or smoke it either.
But it's something that I'm curious about it, I tried googling it but it came up with no results.
Simply the fact that you could use either the pseudoephendrine of epherdrine in the same process to make meth.
 
There is no difference, you can do the reduction with either pseudoephedrine or ephedrine. The only reason most people use pseudo is because it's easier to obtain.
