Psilocybin + Phenibut?

Wondering about a Phenibut, Psiloycbe mix.
Psilocybin is a strong agonist of serotonin 2A receptors, meaning it acts as the serotonin because it is structurally similar and can bind to the serotoninergic receptors. The effects of psilocybin on the areas of the brain are through the actions of serotonin 2A receptors on GABA neurons, reducing brain activity in these areas.

Can someone explain that to me? With regards to Phenibut?
Would it potentiate or 'negate' / 'dull' a psilocybin trip? Like benzos do.

I've read that:
1) "In chemical structure, phenibut is a phenyl derivative of GABA. Although the calming action is similar to other GABA agonists, phenibut binds the GABAB metabotropic receptor" <-- from wikipedea

2) Psilocybin is a GABA agonist

I really don't understand any of this, can someone please explain it to me, in layman's terms?
OR point me in a good direction for some BASIC explanation?

(or even recommend a good book about this general topic?)

Thanks!

this is not advanced discussion - moving to psychedelic drugs.

psilocybin is not a GABA agonist. it is a serotonergic psychedelic. whether or not it acts on "gaba neurons" is extraneous for your purposes.

phenibut is a gaba-b agonist and not much else. it's likely to be a mild anxiolytic but won't be anywhere near as 'strong' as benzos. it would be more comparable to psilocin+ghb. (ghb is a sort-of related GABA-b agonist)

:! What is wrong with me?
Sorry. Where is ADD???

Edit:
Wait, someone told me to take this to ADD.

Is why I'm here. or was there. Oh well, whatever. Sheesh.
lol.

Discussion of GABA receptors and 'serotonin 2A receptors on GABA neurons' is not advanced discussion?
Hmm, okay. Well maybe I'll get some good info here then...

I understand your frustration but there was a point to passing this through ADD: Sekio cleared up for you that you don't need to worry about complex GABAergic action and that the combination can be imagined as mostly an additive effect and not a multiplying or negating effect.

I guess it was assumed that you are mostly interested in the interaction of these drugs and not so much why you interpreted that pharmacology bit in a certain way. Discussing why these 5-HT2A receptors are on GABA neurons is a bit pointless because one should focus on the fact that they are serotonergic receptors and not that they are GABAergic neurons.

Furthermore he also pointed out that phenibut is milder than benzo's, which you might know from experience.

Personally I find that phenibut if mostly helpful for mental anxiolysis and relief of social anxiety in particular. It also can make me feel like the day goes by smoothly, like a breeze.

I also have experience with GHB together with psychedelics. GHB acts pharmacologically differently to phenibut for a significant part, but I think it is an example that GABAergics don't necessarily have to dull a trip, but can make it more fluffy nonetheless.

Anyway I wouldn't take the phenibut too early unless you feel like you have a lot of reason to - because even though it is milder and dulls the trip less, it may still affect it.
