hey all,
so i have some pure psilocybin powder, and i was wondering if it would be more irritating to the stomach or less as compared to mushrooms. obv. i want to get the most out of it, but i dont want to take it on an empty stomach if its just as irritating as regular shrooms (i have a sensitive stomach). anyone have any experience with this?
thanks

Welcome to Bluelight! :)

I have never had any myself, but i have seen reports of zero stomach discomfort and reports of similar discomfort to eating shrooms, so it really depends. If you have a sensitive stomach in general then be prepared for discomfort but don't necessarily expect it. Either way you'll never know until you try some.

First and foremost; are you seriously 100% sure that what you have is actually psilocybin? You sure it's not 4-AcO-DMT?

All medium-spectrum serotonin agonists (LSD, 2c's, psilocin and others) have the possibility to induce nausea. I think there's a strong psychological component there.

If the actual mushroom flesh is giving you gas or whatever, then yeah it will help.

As stated above, most street-level "psilocin" or "psilocybin" will be 4-aco-dmt, it's interchangeable in a lot of cases and metabolizes into psilocin anyway.

a sprinkle of black pepper in the palm of your hand followed by a tongue licking will help any stomach problems you might have a lot. Ginger is also great too.

i'm of the opinion that most psychedelic nausea is strongly psychosomatic anyway... obviously there are exceptions to this and some are worse than others... but i highly doubt there will be a significant differnece in stomach discomfort between psilocibyn powder and actual mushrooms. i really doubt that a tiny bit of fibrous tissue causes most people THAT much stomach discomfort.

FWIW, the actual mushrooms themselves really don't agree with my stomach/GI tract. I can't compare to other 5-HT2a agonist psychedelics, as mushrooms are all I've come into contact with thus far that fall into that category.

Wow I love when people start a thread and then never come back and post in it again.

Psilocybin is really significantly less available than other psychedelics, are you certain that is what you really have and verified in some way or is it just what someone told you it is???

It could be a refined mushroom extract. Or a research chemical.

I agree, I was thinking it could just be powdered mushrooms in a gelcap but who knows what it is?

Some friends of mine did take synthetic Psilocybin but this was decades ago in the late 60s/early 70s when it was actually around and mushrooms were rare.
