Pseudoephedrine is psychoactive for some.

Over Christmas I had a terrible cold.

I took two pseudoephedrine HCL pills (200mg total) as a nasal decongestant given to me by mother, shortly afterwards I started coming up, very little to no euphoria however I definitely felt like I was on a stimulant.

I'm pretty certain this is uncommon, however some people are hyper sensitive to MDMA, and some people feel nothing or very little from mushrooms, I guess it depends on your genes i.e which and what receptors you have.

This is awesome for me because I have a stimulant which is better then caffeine and not euphoric so I have no reason to use recreationally, to which I say "Thank fuck."

After a quick google I see some similar reports, but of course whose to say they aren't kids experiencing the placebo effect.

So anyone else out there experience this?

Yep, Pseudoephedrine does that to me too. I sometimes take them when I want to lose weight as they're great for suppressing your appetite. That's the only use I've found for them though.

Great! Glad to know I wasn't imagining things. I reckoned I wasn't because I didn't even know what the pills were when I took them. I haven't taken them since but I'll probably experiment with using for focus, such as playing music or studying.

It happened for me too, but it loses its magic rather quickly. You should only expect to feel those effects for a handful of uses. Taking long breaks in between uses will help to keep you feeling positive effects over time.

^like amphetamines, tachyphylaxis occurs *very* quickly with ephedrine and pseudoephedrine.

No one should deny that pseudoephedrine is psychoactive but its almost all peripheral effects (aka unpleasant side effects). People don't deny that its a CNS stimulant, just that its not in the least bit enjoyable. Many people do use it for its mild stimulant effects thought.

Anyway, this is pretty basic so I'm going to send it over to BDD.
