PS3 VS Xbox 360 *Extremely biased*

I think PS3 owns the 360 what do you guys think?

My reasons for liking the ps3:

Controller fits my hands better
Plays blurays
true 1080p
better hardware
online play is free
better internet browser
built in media server options
can be linked to a psp so you can access your ps3 from anywhere with internet

Sure some of you might try to say more games come out for the 360 but I recently read a chart of game ratings if I remember correctly only 30% of the games for the 360 have a good rating, the wii had like 20% or so and the ps3 was 40% (I'm too lazy to find the site atm).
... Not to mention the game of the year almost every company agrees is uncharted 2 which is for the ps3 only!

Oh, and sony doesn't ban nearly a million of their paying customers.

Also no red light of death (60% hardware failure for the 360)....

And I don't want to give an awful company like micro$oft my money.


Anyways, what do all you think? (I tried to make a poll but I fail and couldn't figure out how)

live is wayyy better than ps net.
controllers have actual triggers.
you can mod almost everything on an xbox which is pretty sick i think.
the online mods for the games download like tripple as fast as they do on ps3

ther isn't red ring anymore unless you have an old box
and they ban them for hacking

ps3 is way easier to hack there fore more glitchers

i do like the way the home thing is done on ps3 though but there's like avatars on xbox so that's alright i guess

There are triggers on the ps3 controller. R2 and L2 slide back as triggers sec ill find a pic

Plus the d-pad is not useless

I don't know about where you live but I have a 20mbps cable connection here and max it out downloading DLC from the PSN

And I don't know where you got your facts from but to this day the ps3 is still "unhacked" you can not mod it / no modchips, etc....
The 360 can be modded and memory hacked.

The only glitches in ps3 games are mistakes made by the developers which are patched regularly

however due to the fact the 360 has been cracked people can memory hack / write their own hacks for the 360 games.. so it is way easier to hack the 360 / more glitchers. I've seen tons of people hacking on xbox live I've never seen anyone right out hack on a ps3 since it is not possible, I have seen people use a glitch which is usually patched in a day or less

on the xbox its a quick down motion you could even push on the opposite side of it

Huh? What do you have to buy? everything I listed is 100% included with the ps3 except for the PSP of course. That controller I posted the picture of is a standard PS3 controller. All the features I listed are enabled by default or can be enabled in the settings menu, without having to purchase anything. I use my PS3 to stream all of the movies, tv shows, etc directly off my computer onto my TV.

Also another great feature: Sony legally allows you and even gives you an option to simply install linux onto your ps3 so you can run any linux apps like a snes emulator, etc without having to void your warranty or risk getting banned online.

You can even get windows running on your ps3 if you install linux then an x86 emulator like virtualbox

(All without breaking your terms and conditions or voiding your warranty)

And with all these features noone has been able to figure out how to hack the ps3, there is no way to run backed up games or homebrew like memory editors (cheating programs).

To be fair, I do agree that if you have big hands the ps3 controller may be uncomfortable but you can always buy a third party ps3 controller with a different layout for better comfort if you want, they even sell for cheaper than a real ps3 controller.

im a 360 lover -


reasons:
- console/controllers are easy to mod (external, ie - make cover transparent)
- controllers are more ergonomic
- crisper looking graphics (i run in full HD on a 50 or 60 inch Plasma screen)
- can play games, dvds, audio cds, and hd-dvd. (hddvd replaces blu-ray on this console as
the other kind of media disc you get.

- quick note: we can all admit nobody really gives a fuck about blu-ray or hd-dvd discs -

- has msn (windows live) messenger. aka instant messaging.
- has facebook (i dont use it)
- has twitter (dont use this either)

- has live, streaming SATELLITE TV. UK only, mawfuckas!
- on-demand, streaming HD movies from zune. (replaces the old video marketplace kinda)
- Last FM, aka free high quality music streaming. any artist, you choose, and itll play a playlist of that artist and similar ones.

- the new model of the 360 has a better disc reader, resulting in less skips, and a quieter fan system.

- PROJECT NATAL. fuck the ps3. it aint getting this shiznit.

- xbox live may be £40 a year, but that is nothing compared to the BETTER ONLINE EXPERIENCE you get. there's also more DLC for the 360, and frequent freebies.

- RROD is no more problem ever seeing as my 360 doesnt have x-clamps, and i have a mod'd fan-port.
- can stream all my media from my pc direct to the 360.

Let me pick a part a few things you said that are not correct:

- The PS3 is known to have better graphics due to the better hardware inside of it (Which is why it was so expensive when it first came out)

- the bluray / hd-dvd wars ended 2 years ago hd-dvd becoming obsolete (you can't buy hd-dvd anywhere)

- I care about bluray because I have a large collection of bluray movies and from someone saying they appreciate better graphics you should look into true bluray discs as they have way better picture than a dvd

- the ps3 can play games, dvds, blurays (which you can actually buy)

- the ps3 also has facebook built into it (I don't use it either)
- ** I think it has twitter but dont quote me on that as I dont use it either so im not certain

- Obviously it does not come with msn live on it as microsoft compete with sony BUT like I mentioned you can install linux or even windows on the ps3 with a little bit of legal hacking without voiding your warranty so you could put windows messenger, or any app a PC can run on a ps3

- I don't live in UK so I dont know about this satellite TV you're talking about

- the ps3 webbrowser supports flash so you can run Last FM or any other music streaming software

- the ps3 does not and never has had disc skipping issues it does not need a new model to fix bugs that should not of been there in the first place

- lets be honest Project Natal is one of those things that is going to be cool for a whole 2 hours until you realize you dont want to talk to your tv or move around to play video games (why I hate wii games) I like to smoke a joint and sit on my ass not exercise when playing video games

- if you want to bring up lame features like project natal the ps3 controller has the six axis system which detects movements like the wii controller allowing control without pushing buttons, etc

- A feature I use a lot I forgot to mention, is the fact the web browser has a fully functional flash player, Ex. you can stream live movies, tv shows from websites and even play them in full screen.

- Oh and the ps3 has built in wifi unlike the 360


- I will totally agree that at the start the PSN was a pile of shit and xbox live was a much better online experience however sony has been putting a ton of work into PSN it is pretty much on par with xbox live not, except 100% free therefor better in my opinion, not to mention Sony is still not even done improving it.

I care about blueray they can hold up to 25 gigs(dual layer could probably hold 100gigs) To ensure that the Blu-ray Disc format is easily extendable (future-proof) it also includes support for multi-layer discs, which should allow the storage capacity to be increased to 100GB-200GB (25GB per layer) in the future simply by adding more layers to the discs. .The Blu-ray has a lot more capacity than HD-DVD as well.

The single-layer Blu-ray has a capacity over 5 times higher than the DVD, and almost twice that of the HD-DVD. Furthermore, the HD-DVD can only have two layers, while the Blu-ray can eventually have eight! That's a maximum of 30 GB for the HD-DVD and a maximum of 200 GB for the Blu-ray (almost seven times the capacity of a HD-DVD and over 20 times the capacity of a DVD!). Sony has free HQ streaming media i have a list of favourites on my ps3 browser that stream hq music at the tap of a controller.

xbox live suscribers still have to pay for any dlc that ps3 users have to pay for (key words behind this) Plus your subscription, xbox live got some exlusive dlc(not for free either) for gta4 but imo gta4 was a step back in the gta series.

I have no problem with the 360 but half the ps3 bashers havn't even played it or just havn't discovered it potentail (i didnt even mention installing an operating system (example is windows) on your ps3 yet.

A lot of people do like the xbox controller (personal preference I guess) I never played xbox 1, and I've been playing with playstation style controllers since the original playstation so I guess I've just been used to it for years
