BIPOLAR DISORDER is the same as MINAC DEPRESSION...half of the time a BIPOLAR person is very "high on life" and very energetic and talkative, and very productive, wheras the other half of the time they feel very sad and miserable, often suicidal..i think the main reason its hard to diagnose is that the person often goes to the doctor ONLY when he/she is feeling depressed and NOT when they are in the "manic" state...
ok, i understand when someone feels depressed because of a relative dying, but is PROZAC often given for these types of cases??i didnt think they were, but more for types of cases where people suffer from clinical depression, where a chemical imbalance is present...is it safe to say that it has been found out that clinical depression is caused by a lack of seratonin levels in trhe brain??i am curious about this, and if it isnt caused by the lack of SERA in your brain, what is it caused by then, or is this still misunderstood by doctors??
there are a few people i know, and many more on the internet that claim they have been 'SCRIBED many different anti-depressants and they didnt work...they are still going to the doctors and are still rather miserable ands have gone onto taking other drugs to self medicate themselves, like COCAINE, and usually OPIATES or ALCOHOL..
everyone gets bummed out here and there, as i do too, especially lately, BUT i have never gone to the doctors because of it..
is it true that the suicide rate in this counrty continues to rise at a steady rate DESPITE the continued research on depression and the doctors "over" prescribing of anti'depressants??
