Misc Prozac and Tegretol Getting In My Way w/ Tramadol and Other Drugs?

So, I take 60 mg Prozac every morning, and 200 mg Tegretol XR 2 x daily, along with my 1 mg Klonipin 2 x daily, and Ativan as needed. I know SSRI's can dull the opioid experience, but the 100 mg tramadol that once had me nodding barely makes me itchy anymore. It still feels good, but not like it did. And, it isn't tolerance, I just haven't used it enough to experience considerable tolerance. I know a lot of these meds (except for the k-pins and Ativan) deal with liver enzymes and all that, and though I consider myself smart about drugs, enzymes and potentiation confuse me a little. Any input on why I am not feeling it as I should be would be very helpful, and I assure you it isn't tolerance. How can I feel my tramadol again? Another question, would a codeine experience be effected as well, I know it is converted into morphine. Thanks in advance.

That sounds like tolerance to me. Almost every time I hear someone say "Xmg of drug Y doesn't work any more bt it's not tolerance", it's tolerance. They don't just stop working you know.

Tramadol is a synthetic opiate as well as a Serotonin enhancer and a Norepinephrine Reuptake Inhibitor (immediate acting, unlike SNRIs like Cymbalta, Effexor XR, Savella, etc.).

So it's increasing the effects of the Prozac, and that might be why it feels different to you.

Be careful - if you take too much of this combo (Prozac 60mg is a pretty high dose on the dosing recommendation spectrum, plus Tramadol 100mg which is a mild/moderate dose - both increase Serotonin levels in the brain) too often you can get Serotonin Syndrome. It's not a fun condition. You can die.
