Prozac and 2c-e. Reduction of effects?

I'm planning on visiting my cousin this summer. He's familiar with some other drugs, but not 2c-e. He is currently on Prozac. Will this reduce the effects of 2c-e? We will both be taking 20mg. Does anyone have experience with this or other SSRIs and 2c-e?
 
I personally have never mixed the two but ssri's usually reduce the effects of any psychedelic. He runs the possibility of going into serotonin syndrom. Also don't let him go cold turkey on his medication just to trip, prozacs a pretty difficult withdrawal which has got bad trip written all over it. One last thing though, are you sure that someone who is suffering from depression/ mental illness should be experimenting whith psychedelics? They could exastetbate his condition.
 
well, its hard to say who should & shouldn't trip, but if your friend is severely depressed it may be a bad idea. However, these days SSRIs get prescribed to almost anyone who walks into a GP's office & mentions being sad, so he may well be fine to trip, psychologically. Tripping on SSRI's (i was on them for a while) is certainly blunted. Same goes for MDMA. I'm not sure why serotonin syndrome was mentioned, as i'm unaware of any case of it stemming from use of a psychedelic or entactogen while taking SSRIs. Now, MAOI's, slightly older antidepressants, are a serotonin syndrome risk. Prozac is an SSRI though.

If he's tripped before, both on SSRI's & off, i'd venture a guess that you'll be ok, as long as you keep the dose reasonable. And if you got the 2c-e recently, DEFINITELY DO A LOW DOSE TEST (<1mg) before taking a normal dose, as some bromoDFLY (dose of less than a milligram) was recently sold as 2c-e, and no one's really sure how much of it was sold.
 
Well, he smokes weed daily, as well as do other things such as triple c's. I told him to stop doing triple c's though because of the coricidin. I think he can handle it psychologically. And i've had this 2c-e batch for a month or two so i know that it is 2c-e. I do plan on testing all new orders I make though. Dieing doesn't appeal to me.
 
I would expect usage of SSRI, especially at the same time as 2c-E, to dull the trip and increase dosage required. Your mileage may vary, however.
 
I have a good friend whose girlfriend is on Prozac. She tried 2C-E a few times, but with hardly noticeable effects. 18mg's for her was barely threshold (think the effects of 1/4 tab LSD for a person on no meds), so after the 2nd time she gave up on trying to trip on MXE. She didn't experience any SS or ill effects otherwise too.
