i have a cousin that has a script for it..he has daytime sleepiness and nothing else seems to work..he said it is pretty effective, it helps him focus and gives him a steady stream of energy, nothing like meth or anything like that, but much smoother...is provigil an amphetamine???anyone here take it, is it recommended for daily usage, what about side effects??how effective is it at giving you energy, does it make you crash like other amps??

It's definitely not an amp. It is good, although the only time it made me feel really on top of stuff was when I took it after a full nights sleep. It's not recreational, but it will keep you awake.

Modafinil

They describe it as a "wakefullness promoter". It is not an amphetamine. I'd recommend checking wikipedia if you haven't already

Always wanted to try it

Provigil is very helpful for daytime sleepiness. I have felt like crap for the past few weeks despite taking massive amounts of caffeine. I finally got the insurance company to authorize it. I feel 100% better.

I never had a problem getting insurance to cover it, then things changed. I even had a pharmacist tell me "it's only meant for people with narcolepsy" which was a lie. If I didn't sleep well the previous night, it really didn't help me to stay awake. The price was very expensive if you don't have insurance coverage. Sometimes it helped and other times it didn't.

^I've hadthat problem too.

Luckily I stocked up while I could and still have some left. It works to increase vigilence. It will keep you awake but it is not recreational. It is good for people who work long hours and/or shift work.

Very clean awakeness without the peripheral stimulation of methylphenidate or dexadrine. No racig heart, no appetite suppression, no effect on BP unless high doses are used. I find it is not as good as methylphenidate for motivation.

no discernible high from it, just the feeling that you're more "capable" mentally than you usually are. I sometimes work very long days for 4 days a time but only about 4 times a year. I find it very useful for those times. I have a friend that is rx'd it for narcolepsy.

I love it. Keeps me awake and focused but without physical stimulation. Well - maybe some, being awake on 400mg moda definitely helped me walk 10 kilometres in the night on the way to Boom festival :)
It removes the mental cloud I tend to have without any stim intake. Ability to focus is as good as on MDPV but without its overkill and fiending. Plus little to no tolerance, little to none side effects and single daily dose.

Pure WIN. This should be given to people for free and the world could be a bit better place.

However, you will not get high. I suspect it is neuroprotective and may have opposite effect - getting high (on other drugs) may become that bit harder. In addition to that, it is expensive - I can only afford generic tabs and I heard the originals are better.

I bought a box of it a few years back. It`s "ok". For me it only worked when I had a good night`s sleep. It`s not recreational at all and to me the biggest down side is that it does something with your enzymes to were opiates become way less effective. That sealed the deal for me. Also, it made my piss smell really bad. For real, its a known side effect.
I don`t think I`d pass it up for free but I wouldn`t want to buy it any more though.
