Hello all! Wanted to introduce myself and tell everyone my reasoning for finally posting. This forum you guys have created (IMHO) has saved more lives than can possibly counted or conceived by most. I've been reading through this site for a little over a year now, and my overall impression is that 99% of posters (regular posters) have a genuine compassion for passing on correct information, helping those in need, and ridding the rumors and/or fear mongering placed on us by our own government.
Personally my reason for finally getting involved is two fold. I am an opiate addict about to embark on an alternative (for the mainstream anyway) treatment and recovery program using ibogaine. In a few short weeks I'll be heading to Mexico for 7 days to start my journey to recovery. Since I feel that most people either don't know about this option at all, or at best know very very little, I want to chronicle the entire process via a thread on this site so anyone interested in learning how this type of abstinence based recovery works will have a place to read a real life account. I have no problem being the Guinea Pig if it means I could possibly help even one other person see there is hope! There is a life past addition if you want it. I truly believe through ibogaine therapy not only can we be opiate free (without withdrawals!), but we can find the black hole drugs were trying to fill in us, and slowly fill that hole through our new found, enhanced self awareness. Do I think this is a blue pill into the Matrix and i'll be able to see in code afterwards? No lol! But I do think its an effective tool, as is exercise/meditation/etc. Regardless of its true effectiveness I'll be posting about the entire experience, as unbiased as I can be and with all details and outcomes....good or bad.
The second reason for getting involved is simply to give back. I have a ton of life experience that I think will help people. I'm most interested in sharing the things I've been through, helping to give people hope that feel theres none, and exploring/sharing recovery methods that are WAY outside of the box. Just because our government (FDA) and big pharma says there is no other ways to recover than trading an illegal addiction (oxy/heroin) with a legal one (methadone/Suboxone), doesn't mean its true and certainly doesn't mean there aren't other ways!
So thank you to all of you who spread hope and joy and unbiased info to those of us who need it. Now I hope to repay the favor by doing the same!!
